I was looking for something to see when I visited my friend of many years. Found this location online. My friend had never been there even though she has lived in Roseville
for many years. I loved the artifacts and information in the museum and enjoyed walking the grounds. Good for both the young and older folks.

We came here on the first Saturday in February when over 20 Museums in the area have free admission. We had never heard of this place but were brought to Roseville for a morning event. After lunch we found this place on the phone, had the time, and we decided to go. The museum is fairly small and won't take too long to go through. The exhibits are interesting and well laid out. The grounds are VERY nice and worth walking around to see it all. This is particularly interesting for children who want to go from one thing to another. The outside lets one walk a path that covers about half a mile in a loop. It sounds harder than it is. I would not go here if the weather was too hot or too cold because the best part was the interpretive trail. I do not know admission prices.

This museum is well laid out with indoor and outdoor displays showing the life and times of the Maidu Indians. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I would ecommend to anyone interested in the Indians of Northern California.

Many hours of loving care has gone into this museum featuring the Maidu Tribe who once populated this region.

Visited the museum to find out about native Americans who lived in this part of California. It was extremely informative and would recommend anyone with a couple of hours to spare to visit. The items on show are very informative and give the history of the tribes concerned in a simple and easy to follow tour within the building. After the tour you can take a walk around the site that is so peaceful. The team in the museum are so good - that you all so much.

We were given a 2:1 tour of the inside museum and outside grounds and it was excellent! The inside museum is saddens the heart regarding the treatment given the Maidu people. The baskets on display are wonderful. The personal story of a Maidu child in the video and book brought tears to our eyes. The wild turkeys, geese, birds, and wildflowers were in full array and the guide was very knowledgeable about the area.
We told our adult children to bring our grandchildren to the museum. Worth the visit for all ages.

We have visited Maidu parks on multiple occasions but have never had the opportunity to go in the museum so we took advantage on Museum Day (entrance to all museums on this day are FREE) to go see what it was all about. We have been to multiple Indian museums throughout the west so we had a point of reference. The Maidu museum is not very large but it is full of information that we found very interesting. The 100 mile march the Natives of the area were forced to endure was still another chapter in the abuse of the indigenous people at the hands of the US government. Even though we all know many of the stories it is still shocking when we once again revisit stories of the inhumane treatment. We probably were in the museum about an hour reading all the murals etc and really enjoyed a very interesting story of the people of this area.

I have only been here a few times but would like to come back to learn more about the indian museum. Nice open park space in Roseville. Community center offers many programs for adults. One summer my grandchild had a summer program class there which was nice.

The museum is not large in size but big in information. Many of the displays are interactive and informative. One, for instance, had a map of California with buttons to display various features. For example, from where trade items came or trade routes. The ability to read and respond to a variety of questions about Native Americans would appeal to children and young adults. The gift shop offers books and artifacts and jewelry. Upstairs is a gallery with art from a number of different tribal members. We made a quick turn around the outdoor trail but other than a few petroglyphs and grinding stones, it was unremarkable. I have been to numerous museums in Oregon and all allowed photographs without flash. I would have liked to have had the ability to share some of the displays with family and friends but no photographs are allowed in the museum.

Quite small, w/no special indigenous works of art: weaving, baskets, etc. (Such as in the middle-of-nowhere Indian museum in Warm Springs, OR.) But they do hold regular activities that are fun for children. And it is located very near a large & beautiful, shaded park w/picnic & play facilities that includes a branch of the Roseville Public Library.
