Fun but needs improving .
Jul 2021 • Family
My son and i stayed here saturday morning till monday morning, we had a great time but it could of been better, it was very crowded and fishing could of been better. The algae was much in bloom and the bite was off but we did catch a couple. The campground cleared out by sunday afternoon so we were almost alone till monday and that was great. All in all we had fun , could use improvements and pricy for what we got.

Don’t camp here!
Jul 2021
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We staying in Bluegill Camp 6. This was our first time at this site and we will never return. After paying $51/day, we at least expected flush toilets with places to wash our hands. Nope! We had to use pit toilets; at least they did provide hand sanitizer. There were 3 pit toilets available for 40+ campsites!! That is absurd. Public campgrounds are cheaper, cleaner and have better services. My family and I have never felt so unsafe at a campsite. We were packed like sardines - campsites nearly on top of each other. People partying until at least 2:00 am, being belligerent, drunk, blasting offensive music, and just overall inconsiderate of others. I politely asked someone to turn down their music and got cussed out. We had reserved two night but after the first night, my family and I decided to pack up and leave. It wasn’t worth the sketchy vibes we were feeling. Just an overall trashy place to camp. Oh, and the “swimming hole” … nasty! Do yourself a favor and head one mile up the road and camp at Hurkey Creek State Park - much better spots.

Had a great time here. We did Glamping for 3 days 2 nights . The set up was perfect . Bedding clean , night lights working. ', atmosphere was excellent!!! It's nice to just bring your cooler , food and small grill the rest is already there for you . From your personal tent , bed , chairs , fire pit , picnic table, clean bathroom , clean showers (May so add it's not an out door shower or public shower looking , it's like your shower at home!) , moon , stars , lake. The rental process for boats , kayaks , fishing poles is easy . Best of all was Bill!!!!! who was assigned to check if we needing anything , make sure our stay was fun and pleasant. He brought his "gental giant " dog . my kids loved to have the dog come by to pet whenever Bill did his rounds . May I also add my group was a group of 20 we rented 5 glamping tents . Everyone had a Blast !!

So great to unplug, even for a short while
Jul 2021
This was our first time having a family camping trip after so many years. We reserved 2 spots side by side in Lion camp for easy access to the bathrooms and showers.

Overall, we had a great relaxing experience and everything was super chill. Our camp host Bill was nothing short of amazing. He came by regularly with his werewolf, Killian, :) and stuck around to chit-chat, check in on us, and entertain us as well. Such a great guy to have on staff there. He made such a difference in our stay, and are hoping we can come back soon.

A couple of things that were not so great that docked 1 point from this review:

1. the water quality was not so great. We spent a little time in the swimming area, and while it was refreshing to dunk in there since the weather was in triple digits, it was not very clean. Wish the lake was a little cleaner.

2. the hot water pressure in the men's restroom showers and sinks were low. The hot water pressure in the handicap showers were strong, but was hot and we did not have much control over the temperature of the water.

Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely come back again! Stars are very visible and the place was nice and quiet (except for the group in the middle of our area that was large and loud)

"Awesome Campground, Amazing host"
Jul 2021
We had a great time at Lake Hemet. We had an awesome camp host, Bill is an amazing person, always checking on us to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Had a great time fishing, the kids enjoyed getting wet in the lake. The view of the lake and the mountain is breathtaking, very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and camp was nice and clean. I really miss the movies at their park, wish they could bring that back. I have been going camping at Lake Hemet every summer for the past eight years and will continue to camp there, God willing. I give Lake Hemet a rate of excellent for adding Bill as camp host, can't stress enough how awesome he is. We will be back soon.

Beautiful lake not so good experience

My family and I normally come here often over the past 5 years and decided to bring three additional family’s with us. We reserved several spots and raves about the campsite and lake. We stood at the new premium full hook up spots, they were pretty awesome spots and spacious.
We did have a part of our trip that was really upsetting which was when we went to rent a kayak for the day. They have a sign with pricing that has the amount of hrs and price like 1 hr for $20bucks but which isn’t mentioned is you have to also put the same amount for a deposit so it’s actually $40 to rent a single kayak for an hr. This caused my family and guest to walk back and forth to campsite and boat rental. When we went there was a young guy with long hair who had a horrible attitude. He acted like I was bothering him to help us. When we asked to rent a double kayak for two hrs he said it would be $50 bucks but because there’s a deposit it would be a$100.. so annoying…yes you get it back but my sister in law used her card but because he ran it twice one after another it declined and locked her card for fraud.😑 I had a fifty dollar bill but not 100 so I had to walk back to camp. I gave the guy my fifty and said I’ll be back, he said yeah not a problem. I came back and he told me I still owed him a $100!! I’m like no you kept my fifty! He opened the drawer and was like oh yeah… this is a dishonest person and seemed like he wanted to pocket the money for himself. Then he walks out gives us life jackets and walks us down to the kayaks and says these are yours and walks away. !!!! I had to help my sister in law get in the kayak and water and after struggling myself to get myself in the water while sitting in the kayak another camp goer pushed me into the water. We tried to make the most of our time and still have a good time. The lake is beautiful the mountains and trees are amazing I honestly love this camp spot just horrible experience with that employee. The bad experience doesn’t end there… when we get back I go up to the guy and say where back I need our deposit…he says oh for the two kayaks? I’m like yes.. he gives me just 50 bucks back. I’m like you just said rental for the two kayaks I gave you a 100 for the deposit you owe a 100 dollars!! Here’s that shady thief guy again trying to pocket a cash deposit. If they don’t have cameras where this register is they need to get some cuz this guy is stealing money without them knowing!! Love this campsite but might have to wait awhile to see if we actually return here. Left a bad impression on all our family and friends.

Nice place, awesome camp host!

Took my 6 year old for a one night tent camping trip and it was great. Our camp host Bill was AMAZING. He let us move a few sites over for more shade and came by a few times to see how things were going. Very chill spot. Lake is down but to be expected with the drought. Cool little area for a one night camping spot.
