If the water is clear it is beautiful to swim in. It's a big Lake and lots of sand around it. You can boat, fish, and picnic areas.

This looks and feels like a mountain lake although it's actually a state reservoir. There's a campground and a public access picnic area. The two of them are separated by a lengthy barbed fence such that it's a long drive to get to/enjoy the picnic area.

We were just passing through on our way back to AZ. We took a detour and just happened upon this lake. We waded on the shore and had a picnic. It was lovely weather. Lovely weather this time of year, water is very clear. We did not see any wildlife unfortunately beyond a few ducks. Really gross bathrooms though!

I don't even know how to say or what to say, for water everywhere, especially in this part of the world, in this heat, is always a blessing. The water is clean, and you find boat rentals around. The mountains are not far from it either. Palm Springs resort town is within reach. Good to spend a couple of days... More

We rented Eagle Crest RV directly from the Lake Hemet Campground for the weekend. It was our first time in an RV and it was great. We loved that it. There was an outdoor area with a fire pit and a picnic table. We also signed the kids up for their free FitKids adventure. This month, they went for a... More

My friend, her 17 year old daughter and I went to this beautiful lake on Memorial weekend. Not only was it incredibly hot, but it was also crowded. Trying to find kayaks for the three of us proved a bit of a challenge but the great people at the new water park recommended for us to go to the marina... More

When we went there was a very peaceful ambiance. It was not crowded and there were lots of birds to watch. Great for a day trip if you live close by, worth visiting if your already visiting Idyllwild.

Lake Hemet is 20 minutes south of Idyllwild (San Jacinto Mtns.). I wasn't looking forward to going, because I heard it could get really crowded- rowdy even. I guess it gets crowded on holiday weekends, because today it felt we had the whole lake to ourselves. It was so peaceful and postcard perfect with snow at the top of the... More
