About
The Seto Museum offers an opportunity to learn the unique history and culture of Setomaa through having a look at the family life, traditions and customs of Seto families in Obinitsa. The display is especially focused on the period from 1920 to 1940.The cosy exposition of the small museum features objects collected from the neighbouring villages. The handicraft collection of Seto women is very unique: it includes colourful towels used to decorate the corner where the icon stood, decorative towels and national costumes. You can also visit archeological display and a typical Seto small chapel (tsasson). You can get tourist information on Setomaa and the Polva and Voru Counties and use the internet in our Tourist Information Point. You can also buy Seto handicrafts, books, CDs and DVDs in the Seto language or about the Setos here.

free time with family

The best place to catch the feeling of Estonian magic. As in a real house you can feel as free as you want - sit down, drink some tea, watch the movie upstairs, it is a must have!

Small and friendly museum of Setomaa
Aug 2015 • Couples
In this small museum of Setomaa you'll see a lot of national things (clothes, domestic things etc.) and photos of life in Setomaa. After visitting the museum don't forget to walk around this small village. It's tiny and beautiful. There's a beautiful forest lake and a big monument of Setomaa Singing Mother.

Well worth to visit if intis area. A beautiful collection of national costumes, household furniture and ohter everyday objects of the life in this area. A setu house a they once were. Well worth to spend half an hour or even more.

Entrance fee is very reasonable. A kids' corner where thay can spend some time while you study the patterns on the well-decorated dresses or how the furniture was put together.
