We had a great time with our two teenagers ages 14 and 18. We grabbed lunch at quality seafood and then headed for an open area with our leftover french fries where we can feed the seagulls. They will come and take french fries right out of your hand if you hold it high enough in the air! There are also ice cream places, peddle boats, souvenir shops, and of course the nice view of the ocean. It’s a great place to go and walk around.

I used to think that Manhattan Beach was the be all, end all of the South Bay. But you know what? I’m thinking South Redondo Beach is the real hidden gem!! I love it down here! Soooo much more mellow. Wider streets. Less traffic and WAY FEWER tourists! Also the sweeping views, without a water treatment plant right next to you is really breathtaking to look at. I love the breezy, hot summer days and the foggy marine layer mornings. My favorite time of day is around happy hour when the DOLPHINS come out to play!! They are awesome and I will never tire of watching them!
I love being just a few steps away from the ocean and the Riviera village. So walkable, I love it!
South Redondo is truly so lovely!

Attracted by the locations where the OC was filmed, I stopped by to visit this beach after walking on the iconic pier. The beach was dirty full of plastic and other rubbish. Unpleasant people frequented the beach. I won't go back. Definitely better to go to Hermosa Beach

What a spectacular coastline—-and a great place to recover from travel drama in my case! After getting stuck at LAX, what a delight to enjoy this clean pristine beach! If you head to the south end you are likely to see dolphins as it’s a bit like a cove near Palos Verdes. Lots of lifeguards stands, too. And there is a Perry’s cafe on the south end as well.

On a side note, the public bathrooms were a bit iffy - think barely a trickle of water to wash your hands! But hey there was TP. And it is the beach! So.....bring sanitizer - isn’t that the norm now anyway?

After a beach day head over to the Village nearby for casual dining like pizza or Hawaiian chicken or fancier restaurants and pubs.

Visiting Redondo Beach is always a great time. The traffic can be a bear but just relax, you will be fine. There is so much to do there. It is a great place to live. There is so much shopping at malls and little shops. The food offered is for the most part great.

You can have fast food or some of the best fine dinning and everything in between. You name the type of food and Redondo Beach has it. It has everything.

The Pier is large and fun. The beach is wonderful. There are some surfing areas but not a lot. It is safe to swim there and there is plenty of beach to just lay down and relax.

You can stay at a motel or a beautiful hotel, it is up tp you and your budget.

It is great for walking, there are parks and if you like to bike, this is the place for you.

We love Redondo and come here as often as we can. The home prices are too steep for us or we would move here.

The people are friendly and all ages. The sunsets are beautiful as are the sun rises.

If you have not been, it is a must.

We went to Redondo Beach,, which is a nice beach area. As one drives on highway one, one turns onto to Redondo Beach Road to reach it. There is a dirt lot to park at.

Its a nice beach for a walk. People were there fishing. Some were there with their dogs.

We were there mid week in September 2020.

I was born in Redondo Beach and it has changed drastically, so it is not far to review the area. It is very populated, and the pier is dirty and run down. The greatest sight to see was the Seawater pool, it has been there since the 1890s The first saltwater pool and it is wonderful for children.

Redondo is a great beach for families. It is in a great location with plenty of shopping and food. I suggest the fresh seafood restaurants in the area. While the beach is not as nice as Hermosa, it is a lot less crowded.

A great family beach and place to relax and enjoy the ocean. Lots of great places to eat nearby, and a fantastic bike and walking path. I was surprised at how low key and restful this beach is, so close to LAX. Happy I chose a hotel so close to the water, and it didn't break the bank. Excellent.

Had a nice morning walking along Redondo State Beach. The beach was pretty clean and we saw people swimming and scuba diving. There were sail boats gliding along the horizon. There are public facilities and a nice bike path to travel on. It had rained the week before we were there and the cactus lining the bike path had pretty flowers blooming.
