Have followed the creek up and down from the main parking lot facility. Relatively Clean bathrooms for a public parking lot. The trails are basically two that follow up and down the creek. Both can get a big difficult if you cannot hike well. It is best to always hike in pairs for several reasons. One is the few problem... More

This creek starts just below the Whiskeytown Dam, and goes into the Sacramento River. A fly-fishing dream, it is uncrowded, and rewards the angler with a true nature experience, and not many anglers, ever.

Living nearby has a lot of perks! The overlook view is fantastic especially at spawning time for the salmon! Listening to the rapids just above the parking lot is so relaxing. The picnic tables and grills provided for the public make family time so much more enjoyable! Looking forward to warmer days and for the water to warm up so... More

Great hike in the spring and summer, remote and no amenities, which is fine, but you can run into homeless people and can be scary hiking alone, or with kids. Lots of spots to cool off and met a lot of friendly government people explaining what they were researching, and random kids jumping in the creek to cool off. That... More

Good place for fishing and swimming in the summer. Has some good trails to explore. Not really friendly for younger children.

BLM should be commended for their efforts along Clear Creek. Place has come a long way in the 8 years I have been going. Pretty much parole billy haven before. Piles of trash everywhere. All cleaned up now. There is an exercise trail, great swimming, overlook, picnicking, mountain biking...

This is a great place to walk, run or take your bike. You will see all ages walking here. The terrain is flat and marked so you can see how far you walk. They do allow dogs and you will see a lot of them. We have been walking there for a number of years with our Lab and have... More

Went there to do some gold panning, found lots of fools gold but no gold. but loved the hike in and the rock climbing and caves were amazing too. We also saw a beaver hunting for fish. The only thing was disheartening was there were lots of broken glass from beer bottles, and some trash.

Rustling Raging water yet not like before they took down the dam. Singing Birds, Flying bugs, & Serenity. Rustling of the BRIGHT green trees and the Smell of Fresh mountain air yet just minutes (literally minutes) from Downtown Redding. (Be on the L@@K Out- There is a Nude beach somewhere along the creekside but I think it's in a secluded... More
