These people know their business when it comes to caring for the wildlife here in Ramona. We rescued a Red Tail Hawk from our yard and they took it right in. They informed us they would release it back into wild around the same area it was found.

We went to the Hawk Watch, which takes place seasonally (I think just winter through February), and there were two owls as well (Guest Raptors). Presentations were sporadically interrupted by wild hawks and vultures, which only added to the fun. Surprised to learn quite a bit about raptors, as the focus was on local varieties. Crowd, all ages, extremely well-behaved- no whiny kids or cell phone annoyances, as everyone appeared to want to be there, and paying attention. Got to Ramona yesterday and was just looking at the "Guide to Ramona" and they mentioned seeing the Hawk Watch: A Wild Encounter. Decided to go at the last minute, and it was wonderful!! The scientists were very well informed and getting up-close and personal to hawks and falcons was amazing!! We watched them soar, glide! Truly amazing creatures!!…

We visited the Wildlife Research Center in February to see the Wild birds in flight. I plan to take my young nephews back next year. It is a free show, although a donation would be nice to provide and well worth it. It is something to see for all ages.
