Don't miss this charming, friendly and quality place.
Jul 2019
We visited Shenandoah Vineyards in July with my friends from Germany.
I've been to Amador County wineries many times, and I like them for down the earth-friendly atmosphere. Still, I was very impressed with the warmth and attentiveness of the staff members. The wines were very good and they had a big variety of wines. From zins to tempranillo and barbera. The tasting room is bright and stylish. I strongly recommend visiting this place while in Amador County.

Wonderful saleswoman!

Not only did she share the wine specialties with us, but also cheeses! I had always gone to their sister vineyard, Sobon, but I will definitely head to this one again!

We visited on a Monday and had the place to ourselves. Lovely chatting with the hostess. She was extremely knowledgeable and we spent quite a bit of time just talking about so many things, oh and wine too. Thoroughly enjoyed the wines, purchased a few and will definitely visit again when in the area. Thank you for the wonderful visit.

Wine Tasting fun
Oct 2018 • Couples
We had fun on a late Saturday afternoon tasting. Best part of the trip was the light traffic and small crowds at the end of the day. We ended the tasting as one winery was closing, but let us sit and enjoy the fall evening on the patio for another hour.

Wine tastings were $5 for 7 choices, unlike the Napa $35 for 3 or 4 choices. The wines are good.

A great day trip from Sacramento area.

Sobon winery's junior brother

Shenandoah vineyards is located closer to Plymouth than Sobon and has an associated art gallery, which was the main reason we visited. Located on top of a hill, surrounded by sloping vineyards, if offers impressive views. The art gallery is small, but is worth visiting. We were less impressed by the wines; clearly the ones we tasted at Sobon were superior.

Sister location for Sobon Estate Winery with different wines. Beautiful vistas: the winery sits on ridge above Steiner Road. Welcoming staff. Decent value wines.

Reserve 2008 Barbera
May 2016 • Business
We are in the grape growing business here on Amador county. We just openned an almost 10 year old bottle of the Shenandoan Vineyards' Reserve Barbera thinking we better drink it before it goes bad...wow it is still fabulous. This was not the case of a bottle from Healdsburg, CA. That we had openned recently! Great job, Paul.

This is the sister winery to Sobon, the wines are very different, but equally good. Make this a stop on your wine tour. No tasting fee, just good wine and good service.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I were in the Amador wine country 2 weekends ago for the annual Crush event, where we bought a ticket that gave us unlimited tasting and food. We had a great time, visiting 11 wineries over 2 days.

We visited Shenandoah late in the second day, and tasted a variety of whites and reds, all very nice. By the way, the Sobon winery is part of Shenandoah, and their wines are very good too. The winery is interesting and inviting, with artwork for sale on the walls. The staff was very friendly, so overall the experience was very positive. We look forward to returning soon.

2 enthusiastic thumbs up!
