    Great wine and art
We have been here a few times and we love it. The wines are great and we love to look at all the art. We purchased a couple of pottery pieces here as well. They will even ship the wine home for you. My father has purchased a few wildlife art pieces and he loves them.

Great winery with tasting along with a beautiful art gallery.
What a great visit to one of the nicest wineries in Plymouth. In addition to an enjoyable visit with a nice selection of wines to sample, Spinetta has a wonderful art gallery filled with beautiful limited edition lithographs, along with original artwork. Their framing shop is second to none in quality and artistic design. The frame and matting is a work of art in itself. Excellent wines specializing in the sweeter blends, all at very attractive prices. It's a family run winery and they take pride in both their wines, customer service, and the beautiful art gallery that is next to the tasting room. There is a very nice picnic area outside and customers are encouraged to bring a lunch and enjoy the view and atmosphere as they sip on their favorite new wine. What a nice change from a day of wine tasting to be able to relax and view the beautiful artwork specializing in wildlife. Definitely worth a visit while you are enjoying the Plymouth Valley in the Sierra Foothills.

If you love sweet wines, you have to stop at Charles Spinetta. This is by far my favorite winery. I have visited others in Napa, Paso Robles, and Amador and this one takes the cake. It is hard to find a winery that has delicious sweet/dessert wines so when I found Spinetta, I was hooked. I have been coming here for my wines for over 2 years now. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly!

Whenever we go to the Shenandoah Valley, we head straight for this winery. The dessert wines are wonderful! And the art gallery on the second floor is spectacular. Now, if they had a quartet quietly playing jazz or light classical in the corner, we might never leave ...

The wines are sweet for those new to wine tasting or just like sweeter wines. Reasonably priced as well.

The title may be a bit misleading - they do have dry wines, but I think they specialize in in sweet wines. This is a small family winery with limited production, so that may be why some people felt they were stingy with the tasting. However, they give you enough to taste their wines. As for having to choose between sweet and dry - most people either prefer one or the other, but not both. Their sweet wines go well with hot, spicy foods and some are great dessert wines, unique. We have been here several times and our experience has always been positive. One of the sons usually tends bar, and sometimes he has run the cash register too, but keep in-mind that this is a small family operation and the rest of the family is probably working on production. At least one of the sons has a degree in winemaking from UC Davis.
There is also a nice art gallery in the loft.
If you prefer dry wines, this is probably not the place for you, but if you prefer you wine on the sweet side, you might want to give this a try.

8 of us did the limo thing in Shenandoah Valley, we had hit 3-4 tasting rooms before Spinetta's and did the traditional tasting of whites to reds, to desert wines. At this place they make you decide if you are going to taste dry or sweet. So my wife and I chose one of each tastings, which they tried to say we could not do. It was so confusing going red, sweet, white, sweet, red, white, etc. We bought some wine, but I was very turned of by the experience. We then continued onto 4 more vineyards and were pleased to get back to the normal order of things. Also, even though we had a reservation with Spinetta's, when we walked in, we were not greeted as such.

Charles Spinetta Winery has long been one of our favorites. The sweet wines please most in our party and the reds please the rest. Tasting room is often staffed with members of the Spinetta family. Picnic tables are available outside so you can enjoy a quiet lunch or a nice bottle of wine. There is also an art gallery upstairs that is fun to browse through.
