This is a nice park with several easy to slightly difficult trails. The park is in a private property and reserved for Pleasanton’s residents. Non-residents need to to get a day permit from Alviso Adobe park that is about 5 minutes north of the entrance...More

I spend a lot of time riding and hiking through Augustin Bernal on my way to Pleasanton Ridge. The trail from Golden Eagle is a nice relaxing climb with a few strategic stops for views. It does get crowded on weekend mornings.

Augustine Bernal Park is in beautiful Pleasanton. The park is great for walking hiking or biking. Take plenty of water to keep you hydrated.

It's nice that you're half way up the hill when starting. A great way to get to the top of the ridge to continue you hike on East Bay Regional Parks Trails.

I used to be confused when people talked about the great views from Pleasanton Ridge, because there's actually a park NAMED Pleasanton Ridge and the views I found there weren't particularly rewarding. Now, having discovered Augustin Bernal Park, I know what they were talking about!...More

Great place for hiking. Gets a bit crowded with mountain bikers who are occasionally rude and ride too fast going downhill. Be cautious. Great place for hiking with dogs but again be careful of the cyclists. Great views from the second bench. I don't care...More

You have to go through a private, gated community to get to this park, but it is a quiet little charmer up on the hills above Pleasanton. A nice place for a quiet picnic, or special proposal.
