Take a short walk, views are totally worth it

Nice pier, there are restaurants and shops very near. Great walking along the pier and seeing a sunset.

Great views from the pier so it is really worth the walk. The pier is a wooden topped pier and the boards are uneven, so may be difficult for people with disabilities. There is a concession on the pier where you can get snacks or rent a fishing pole. No fishing license required fishing from the pier.

Fully enjoyed it all, pier, shops, restaurants, beach. Plenty of parking. Kind of quaint little town.

My wife two kids and I Walked the pier one night just before sunset. We live in a coastal town with a pier so I wasn't overly excited but I was pleasantly surprised. We got lots of photo ops. The surfers were probably my favorite as they were right next to the pier and we had a great view. My... More

Amazing how cool it can be here. Go inland about 5 miles and roast. Always a great place to visit on our way to Lake Tahoe.

My wife and I took a walk onto the pier after having dinner in the area. Some of the reviews had said, "it's just a pier" and that's correct but if you want great views and a nice view this is the spot. We spent about an hour walking out the pier, stopping at different points to watch the birds,... More

Those older piers are pretty cool but make sure to watch you step with the uneven and spaced out boards. Pismo is really a pretty spot and the pier gives you great views of the beach landscape and surfers.

If you live locally it can be fun to walk on the pier after along day at work or during a relaxing weekend. There are some new and old places to eat near the pier entrance. There.are no attractions on the pier itself, like Avila Beach. There are always people fishing and the usual young surfers. Access is good with... More

Worth a visit - unless you fish, 15-30 min is adequate visit. Parking = ok. Nice walk and good viewing. Good people watching, as well.

Soft sand, very soft. If you have been to Capitola or Santa Cruz you will enjoy this soft sand. The beach is not as crowded as most beaches. There used to be s guy who built massive sand castles near the pier. I haven't seen him this trip.
