Said to say the gift shop was already closed but still an amazing site to stop at for a few minutes. It is amazing how big the tree really is, especially when you compare it to the building right next to it.

We stopped to see the tree but it was kind of eerie. The gift shop had a Keep Out sign. No one was around. Save your time and keep driving.

We stopped here as it was next to the One Log House. We went into the gift shop and the lady at the register completely ignored us. We admired the tree, snapped a few pics, and got back on the road again.

Very nice and clean little roadside attraction, good for families. Lots of cute little decorations around the gift shop. They don't have a bathroom but the One Log House is right next door, and they do. The Grandfather Tree is of course huge, and a...More

Yet another of the uncommonly huge, old redwood trees. I stood in amazement of the sheer space this tree occupies. Took some photos but did not visit the gift shop. Did see some carvings of animals nearby.

We entered the redwoods from the south so this was one of the first big trees we saw and was impressive how BIG it is! The ladies in the gift shop were also very nice.

This is a great photo opportunity! The tree is just huge - it is 1800 years old, 245 feet tall and 24 feet in diameter! There are also chainsaw carvings of animals here as well.

Point of fact: At 1,800 years, this tree is about as old as Christianity. There isn't really a whole lot to see; like so many of the roadside attractions in this area, it's basically just a weird-looking tree with a giant gift shop attached to...More
