About
We carry military antiques from the US Civil War continuing all the way to present day. We specialize in items from World War One and World War Two to include US, British (United Kingdom and Commonwealth Nations), Germany, France and a small selection of WWII Soviet items. We buy, sell and trade all military related items. We are always seeking out full collections or groupings and really do appreciate when we can get the background behind all the items we buy and sell. We really do want to preserve the story or the history behind the item the best we can! We are in the basement of the Petaluma Antique Collective please make sure to come down stairs.

The military antiques store and museum is run by a man who knows his stuff. There is a wide variety of military antiques from helmets to bomber plane pieces. Knives to water cans. Definitely worth a visit. Upstairs is a regular antique shop. Downstairs is the military antique shop and museum.

I wish the museum explained more about what scenes it was trying to depict but it's an effort of love and not flush with cash. You can donate to the museum and the owner can answer any questions you might have.

All of our children were interested and enjoyed our short visit. The owner answered several questions my 12 year old had.

The museum/military antiques store is right at the back and down the stairs in the general antiques/bric a brac store front.
The military paraphernalia that are for sale are very interesting for anyone interested in military history. There are pieces from WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Gulf War and others. A number of countries are represented (and yes, German WW2/Nazi pieces are for sale), and you can tell that the people running the space know their history, with many of the pieces having a paragraph describing the history and provenance of it.

The museum itself is small, with maybe 8 or so dioramas, but they are well done. Full uniforms and heavier weapons are set up, as well as good information on what is represented. Good amount of detail. There is no charge to have a look in the museum, though you can make a donation or a purchase.
I spent around an hour or so wandering around the retail space and museum.
The guys running the place were very friendly as well.

It is on the ground level of and old building. Probably a refurbished basement along the Petaluma River. They have an impressive collection of war memorabilia considering how small this place is.

Purchased an item, lied about what it was, came back to confront. They basically told me without saying it to my face. Yeah your right it's not what we said it was so for that you can return it but we're keeping some of the money you gave us or you could keep the item and we will give you 2.5 percent of what you paid!

So I just left

Luckily I didn't spend any large amount of money at this place.

But I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything without doing your research.

Or the people there could have told the truth, but why would they do that.

Notwithstanding the disclaimers that make it clear that the Nazi stuff is just historical and does not imply any endorsement of the Nazis, there's just too much of it and its presented in a way that makes one wonder. The museum is impressive, with lots of WWII stuff from various countries. There are uniforms, old knives and guns, medals, paintings, and documents. But it dwells on the Nazi stuff and has many paintings that depict the Nazi leaders in a heroic or otherwise positive light. Last time I was in one could buy a CD of Nazi army marching songs. Its just too too creepy. One star.

Hello, I appreciate you taking the time to do a review. However we want you to know and understand that Military Antiques Museum has no sympathies with any past or present dictatorship or military regimes. The only nation that we are loyal to is the United States of America! Our items are offered for historical, educational, reference, or collecting value only. The WWII German (Nazi) items that we have for sale were items brought home by our (American) veterans as souvenirs of their time in service and are sold for collectible and historical value only. If you take the time to look at many of the flags we sell they are signed by the soldiers who captured them as a quasi yearbook and not because they believed in the ideology. Every war in American history, except for the present two wars, American soldiers have brought home items from the opposing side as trophies. As to how they are displayed, they are not a prominent part of our store and are displayed less than the American items. It is due to the bulk of items that you were surprised at. It is said that there are more items from Germany in WWII (Nazi items) in the US than anywhere in the world because of the quantity that the American soldiers brought home. Again, not as believers, but due to the fact that we had won the war and defeated one of the most evil regimes in all of history. This fact has to be remembered and that is what we are here to do: to remember our soldiers and what they did for us. Respectfully, Kevin Braafladt Store (707) 763-2220

I've been a collector of WW2 military antiques since I was a kid, so a visit to this store was a must. I had actually been here back in 2008, while vising California. I was again visiting my sister, who lives in the area; so I of course stopped to visit again. There is all kinds of cool stuff all over, and most of it is for sale. There is a large room dedicated as a museum, and that stuff is not for sale, but is definitely worth seeing. Whether you are a collector, or not; this is a highly interesting place to visit. I will go back next time in that part of the country. Two rabbit ears up!!

I have visited this store many times, I,m trying to take a break right now, because you can,t help but buy something every time you go in there, what a fantastic shop. How it works is many different collector,s rent space there to show their item,s, you cannot believe the things in there, where they find these things is amazing, and every time I go in, I find something to take home, take time to visit this amazing store, and see the things from yesteryear, life goes by right in front of your eyes, it,s a time capsule in Petaluma. Thank god that people save this stuff, the memories that they bring back as you go thru the store is incredible and take your time because it,s so easy to just get mentally lost in there, because every nook and cranny has got something to look at. If you are a vet, go down stairs and see military history at it,s best. The uniform,s and hardware and all the item,s downstairs , will give you a complete look at how the military has evolved.

My hubby is a military buff and likes shopping for things that are not the norm.. So I took him here for a visit. Great choice! They have a little bit of everything! Old toys, antique-y type stuff, military memorabilia and clothing.. Just too much to name here! How they keep track of everything for sale here is beyond me! Nice place to wander for an hour or two. And for the ppl complaining about the nazi materials I don't think it's over whelming, and plus, guess what? It's part of our military history! If you don't want to see those items or areas keep moving!! Lots of other things to see..
