The best wines in Paso are off the beaten path
Feb 2016
This place is only open to the public 3 times a year. The rest of the year, you have to call and make an appointment with the owners. We called on Sunday, and made an appointment to come on Monday morning. The vineyard is off the beaten path, and you will have to drive for a bit on a dirt road, but don't let that intimidate you. The property is gated, so press the call button on the box, and they will buzz you in. We were greeted by the owner, who had all the wines out and ready to pour for us outside and invited us to sit down and enjoy the wines with him. We went through about six or so of the wines he had open, and they were all so amazing, just how I remember them from several years ago. These are all HAND BOTTLED, hand crafted wines, that drink perfect right after they have been bottled - no need to let them lie down, but I'm sure they get more amazing with age. All of the wines are the big fruit forward Paso wines you expect and love. We enjoyed our tasting with the owner, and it was nice to hear a lot of information about the wines and some more info about the area. I can not recommend this place highly enough. The wines are mostly in the $50 price range, definitely on the high side for Paso, but the love that goes into these bottles, and the quality of the wine make them worth every penny. Wine club discounts do apply here if you feel so inclined to sign up, the shipments average just a little over $200 and only ship twice a year.

BIG Bold & Beautiful
Sep 2015 • Family
Gelfand produces some of the biggest richest wines you will ever taste. This is a personal passion of the Gelfand's retirement... and the wines are nothing short of extraordinary!!!! The only way to get these wines is to be a member. And members get to participate in their fantastic annual blending party and help determine some of the blends.

Outstanding wines

We're wine club members here. Love their blends. Highly recommended even though only open to public a few times a year.

Drink the Dream!
Oct 2014 • Friends
"Drink the Dream" is Jan and Len's motto in a so called retirement. The wines are big and bold. Tasting is by appointment only....the wine club is waiting list only but is worth the wait! His blends are both conventional and unconventional (these are simply over the top yummy) Len is incredibly passionate about his wine and will spend the time with those that are worthy to impart his vision and dreams.
