We arranged some time in advance to visit Tablas Creek as I have enjoyed various Perrin wines over the years and was interested to see what they had done in California. We arrived to find we were the only two for the reserve tasting and were asked to wait for John. Another member of staff came down to ask us... More

We planned ahead and did the focused tasting and had a nice time at the winery. Our guide was extremely nice and knowledgable. He patiently described all of the wines and we very much enjoyed our visit. I thought all the wines were very good. I would definitely make this winery a stop when visiting the area.

Tablas Creek is attractive, in a beautiful setting, and the tasting room experience is top flight. The crew is knowledgeable about their own wines as well as the area itself and the Rhone style wines being produced hereabouts and elsewhere. Best overall experience in the region. Charlie was running the show when we were there and gets a nod for... More

Needless to say, they had great wines but was more amazing was the customer service that they provide. Jacob was SO knowledgeable about French wines and wine regions around. He didn't just give us wines but he educated us on the various regions and why certain wines taste and/or are made a certain way. PLUS: They are the only winery... More

We went midweek and our server was helping two at a time and keeping us both engaged. Rhone blend wines, French style. The tasting was 15, offset with purchase. Server was knowledgable and not snobby. We ended up joining the club we couldn't decide on which to buy! Cold water refill machine and canteens full of ice water at front... More

We came this place since it was recommended in one of the travel guides. It is also close to several of the wineries we wanted to visit on Adelaida Road. Anyhow, there is nothing extraordinary on the building or the wine. There are canteens outside filled with iced cold water and a H20 refill station . It is a really... More

We were the first people in the tasting room and had a really informative tasting. Wine was great. They are very thoughtful and offer you a canteen of cold water when you walk in which is great. We split a tasting since it was the 1st of 3 wineries that we visited.

In general the wines, particularly red wines one encounters in and around Paso tend to be heavy on the alcohol, over 15%. They are hearty and flavorful, even balanced, but for my taste there's just too much heat. Tablas Creek Vineyard and Winery is French owned and that shows in many respects. The Perrin family brought Rhone grape cuttings from... More
