About
Located off of Highway 46 West in Paso Robles, the winery sits on forty acres and is surrounded by the winery's dry farmed grapevines. These vines produce very low tonnage and extremely high quality fruit, resulting in robust Italian style wines. The winery uses only its own grapes in order to ensure top quality. Total annual case production is approximately 1800 cases, although production varies based on rainfall. The wines are made in the Italian style so they pair wonderfully with rich, flavorful foods and will age for many years. The wines produced include Italian and Bordeaux varieties as well as Italian and Bordeaux blends. All these wines are best paired with food or cellared for a number of years.

A first time visit to this small family owned operation. We went on a whim and based on their interesting website...the SHOCK was HOW WONDERFUL were the 6 wines the 4 of us tasted. It was difficult to rank them...they were that uniformly outstanding. Mainly Italian grape varietals. Joined their club and looking forward to the next shipment. GO!!

My favorite red wines. The big body wines hold up to aging. Still drinking some that I purchased 15 years ago. The tasting room is down a dirt road, but worth the ride.

We always love visiting this winery. We have also been to several winery dinners here. The food and wine and especially the people are outstanding. These wines hold up very well to age!

We just returned from another three-day trip to Paso Robles and a highlight was a picnic lunch at Fratelli Perata. We always stop there for their terrific dry-farmed Italian varieties, but our visit this time was the best ever. Wonderful hospitality at this small, family-run winery, and a wonderful picnic spot on their sun-filled deck. These folks were among a handful of the wine pioneers who started things in the Paso AVA so it's always a treat to be able to pay our respects to the founders!

I have had the great fortune to visit Fratelli Perata approximately twice a year since 2012. As many reviews have states, Gino and Carol Perata have created a quiet gem of Italian style varietals that are amazingly distinct along the entire library of old world Italy. Their daughters run most of the business now, but share the passion of their parents. I always go earlier in the week to avoid the crowds and to be able to spend an jour or more talking with Carol and the daughters about the wines. This visit Carol turned me onto to Victor Hugo Vineyards and was blown away. But, it always come back to the magnificent quality of their wines. It is one of the very few producers that I can say I enjoy every varietal they make!!

The wines are spectacular and quite reasonable for their quality. They have done a lot of grafting over through the years and you will get quite a variety of wonderful wines in the wine club. All the wines are made from estate grapes. Be sure to phone ahead this really is a family run winery, and one member of the family usually runs the tasting room. We have been wine club members for six years and never been disappointed and stop by the winery whenever we can.

This "mom and pop" winery was a great addition to our tour. We needed a winery to fill a gap and our driver told us of this place. I'm glad we made the addition, because Fratelli had Rhone-like wines at affordable prices. Plus, the pourer (also the owner) was down-to-earth and fun to listen to.

Fantastic wine, deep, rich colors, great nose, every varietal we tried was great in it's own unique way.
Price (the tasting is of course thrown in upon purchase) was right on the money, maybe even a little on the low side all things considered.
Carol spent a lot of time with us while she poured for the two of us and about 6 others in the intimate tasting room, telling us in depth about each one of her wines and explaining the family tree on a mural adorning one of the walls. Fun lady to talk with, enjoyed some fabulous wine and bought all we could afford/carry home on the airplane to New Jersey, many other stops to make as well, speaking of which of the 12 wineries we visited, in hindsight her wine was easily one of the most memorable and the bottle's we'll hold on to the longest... just waiting for some occasion to be special enough to uncork one em!
Great place, try it, can't imagine you won't fall in love with the wine.

Petit Verdot 2009

Small family owned winery with our favorite wines - Sangiovese and Barbera. We enjoyed visiting with Gino learning about their history of wine making in a very pleasant personal setting.
