It's rare that you can find wine that takes you back to France. Windward's pinot isn't Oregon fresh cherries. It's layered and complex. And where can you go to taste a vertical of four or more years to see what weather and time in the bottle does to make wine wonderful? And when you compare their price with virtually any good Burgundy, Windward is a treasure.
I'll be back every time I visit Paso!
4 stars.

I'm a lover of Pinot Noir so I have visited / tasted at Windward on several occasions. (I live in a different state and visit the Paso area once or twice a year.) Hubby and I are staying in Cambria for seven nights so I made a tasting reservation at Windward. My intention was to not buy more than three bottles; I just haven't been drinking much wine lately.

Every wine on their tasting menu was so good that we bought an entire case!

Justin G., the owner/Winemaker's son, was our Taster. He was a hoot. We had a lot of fun together.

We're here celebrating our wedding anniversary. I don't know if that is why Justin gifted us two great Pinot glasses but I know that we very much appreciate them. Fingers crossed we get them home safely.

This was by far our favorite Pinot Noir winery. Every Pinot we tasted was excellent and everything is estate grown on their 15 acres.

This is a hidden gem of a family winery that produces only about 1500 cases per year. They only produce Pinot Noir wine from what they grow on their property. So your wine tasting experience will be "vertical tasting" of nothing but different vintages of Pinot Noir. What fun that was. If you can go on a weekday or early (10:30 am) on a weekend you'll have a great experience. We went on a Thursday and had the owner's son, Justin, to ourselves for almost an hour. He was wonderful giving us history of the winery, his family and the region. We will be back for more of their Pinot Noir.

Windward winery is a relatively small, family-owned winery that focuses exclusively on Pinot Noir, and even more narrowly, on Burgundy-style Pinot Noir. They accomplish this to a large extent and a visit to the Tasting room offers you the opportunity of a vertical tasting. The small tasting room is surrounded by lovely gardens, with lavender taking a prominent place.

They ONLY grow Pinot Noir grapes. These are the very best Pinot Noir wines we have ever tasted. We highly recommend that you splurge and buy one or two of their Library offerings.

Nice small winery- has a small tasting room with bocce outside and several tables outside. The folks there were very very friendly. The owner's son was there along with another very nice woman. Very small and family oriented. Not corporate at all.

We found them because we love Pinot Noir and they are exclusively pinot- strange for this hot area, but their grapes are grown in an area with wind from the ocean so it's a bit cooler.

Only critique is that it would be nice to have some tables inside-- we were there on a rainy day when we couldn't sit at the tables outside. But, it's a minor nit in an otherwise great place to stop.

Windward specializes in Pinot Noir. We have found consistent high quality during our visits -- for nearly twenty years. If you like Pinot Noir this will become one of your favorite wineries. The staff are helpful and friendly. Because it is a bit isolated, you do not find the huge crowds -- a visit is a pleasant relaxing experience.

Family-run winery, beautiful grounds (perfect for a picnic!) and a lovely tasting room. They only produce Pinot Noir, so it's fascinating to do a vertical tasting of Pinots from 6 years in a row!

My sister and I enjoyed it there this afternoon. Justin was very friendly and was very happy to recommend other wineries when we asked him!😁
