You must make a reservation. The tasting will cost you either $30 or $45 per person and you are seated at your own table with the time noted for tasting lasting no more than 1.5 hours. We had the $30 tasting and paired it with a $24 cheese plate. The wines served were on the young side (also confirmed by... More

Our first visit to Paso ! There are sooooo many wineries and vineyards to visit. We're not connoisseurs but can appreciate and identify a good bottle of wine. Our desire was to find a winery with great wine AND ambiance. We received the recommendation and after going on the Daou website I was disappointed that they day and time we... More

This is hands down one of the most spectacular wineries we have visited. The property location is meticulously maintained and is set atop the hills of Paso Robles-- providing amazing views of the entire area. We didn't make reservations (we will next time) but arrived early enough on a Saturday morning, so they were able to accommodate us at the... More

Great wine, surprisingly great food, excellent views, and great service. While we sat at a secluded corner to take in the views, our waiter kept an eye on us from a distance and came to check on us with just the right frequency and served gracefully to make us feel taken care of but not interrupted. Also, the story of... More

I really enjoyed the cheese plate for 2 ($19) - it's a fair price for 4 cheeses, an AMAZING Honeycomb, nuts, and delicious toasty crackers. Do NOT confuse this with their $60 per person wine and cheese pairing -check their online menu; I'm going by memory of what I saw. I did the $30 wine flight - the wines were... More

We knew this vineyard had some wines we were interested in tasting and prior reviews had commented on it's beauty. Still it was so much more than we expected. Our hostess was delightful and never rushed us. The cheese platter was lovely and the wines interesting and full of character. We spent an afternoon sitting on the patio overlooking the... More

We stumbled upon Daou winery by recommendation from our hotel desk. Our requirements--1. Good wines (we aren't super into wine) 2. A good view 3. Good snacks. This winery surpassed all three. We did the basic flight tasting and LOVED every single wine we tried. Along with the fantastic wines, our server was extremely knowledgeable on the wine, history, grounds,... More

We made an appointment to taste but were left standing at the tasting bar rather than having a reserved table with a view outside. We even had to wait while walk-ins were helped. The view is amazing-I'd recommend a cheese plate and a glass or two of wine to share but wouldn't make the trip again.
