About
Écluse may not be familiar to you yet but we will be! We invite you to discover us and experience wine tasting the old fashion way – in the barrel room with the winemaker! We are a small family owned winery & vineyard dedicated to producing limited production, hand-crafted, award-winning Rhone and Bordeaux style wines. Located on 30 beautiful acres of gently rolling hillside terroir on the desired Westside of the Paso Robles AVA, our philosophy is to make the very best wines from the very best fruit. Come "Savor the Wine that is truly Écluse"!Cheers! We are a small, boutique family owned winery therefore a reservation is required for groups of 7-10 and must be made in advance. We are unable to accommodate groups larger than 10. To schedule a tasting reservation, please give us a call. We look forward to welcoming you into our tasting room!

My wife and I visited Ecluse for a reserved wine tasting in March during our trip to Paso Robles. The reason we chose Ecluse, among other venues, is because it is a smaller husband and wife project as opposed to some of the larger corporate vineyards. We were graciously hosted by Sue, and had an opportunity to also talk to owner Steve. The wines were delicious and certainly on par with any other wine tastings we experienced at 7 other vineyards. We especially enjoyed their Ensemble blend. Steve also drew a sample directly from a barrel for us to try, something no other winery did. It was a young red but you could tell that it would age beautifully. We had decided beforehand not to join any wine club during our Paso visit but to wait several weeks, review the wines and then decide. Of the 8 vineyards we visited, we have now joined the Ecluse Wine Club and cannot wait for our 1st shipment! Highly recommend a visit to Ecluse.

This was the first wine club we ever joined and likely the one we will always have. The wines are consistently excellent, and the owners, Steve and Pam, have made a visit here feel like a visit with family.

The new terrace is beautiful, and just in time for the order to have all the tasting outdoors. They were one of the last to add a fee for their tasting, but it makes sense with all the additional expenses of meeting the COVID restrictions AND it's worth every penny.

We don't make a trip to Paso without a stop at Écluse, and love coming around the corner on Kiler Canyon to see it sitting up on the hill. The wines are really reasonably priced, especially compared to so many others in Paso. You know you are getting great quality wines.

This is absolutely one of my favorite wineries in Paso Robles. With each tasting, you think, I should buy a bottle of this wine...and then you taste the next...I ended up buying a case of various bottles. It did not disappoint. A truly hidden gem with high quality wines and friendly owners.

My wife and I joined our friends from San Diego last September who have been going to Paso regularly for over a decade. I've had some great wines before but am by no means a "wine snob". Of all the wineries/vineyards we visited that weekend, Ecluse was by far the standout, not just in terms of quality of the product, but in the approachableness of the staff and the experience. The terrace was picturesque.

We LOVE Ecluse and have been members for years. We have joined and quit so many other wine clubs, but consistently receive excellent, high scoring wines from Ecluse that we enjoy and have never been disappointed with. Their blends are wonderful and the tasting room staff is terrific. There is a new patio to enjoy a bottle, the stunning views, as well as great music. I have learned more from Steve, the owner and winemaker than anyone in the industry. They have barrel tastings often and tastings are always free. Great wine, great people and always my happy place. Oh, and very dog-friendly - they even have a wine named Blind Dog, where proceeds are given to a charity to assist dogs.

We have been wine club members at Ecluse for several years and it is always consistently great. They have one white Rhone blend and the rest are reds, zinfandel, Cab, blends, all are wonderful. Prices are reasonable with a "Blind Dog" table wine at $15.00 through to blends at approx. $40.00. They don't pour the Blind Dog in the tasting room, but trust me buy one you will like it. During the tasting you also get some barrel samples. The team at Ecluse are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The tasting room is in the barrel room and feels like a great place to try the wine. Outside of the tasting room is a beautiful view. They have one or two picnic tables you can use during your visit and plenty of parking. Enjoy!

I have been buying wine from Paso Robles wineries since the early '80's. This is one of a handful of best ones. And no pretentious Napa attitude (in general for most Paso wineries).
See the San Francisco 2017 Wine Competition results with loads of gold and even several double-gold wins.
Knowledgable staff. Martha assisted my wife & I with a great deal of wine savvy.
Located just west of the neighborhood west of Spring Street so easy to access.

This was our first visit to the area and Ecluse was one of our first stops because we had heard great things about their wine. We were delighted with the staff and how much time they spent educating us on the region. We enjoyed a barrel tasting and generous pours, yummy wine! Wish we had bought more~ The unexpected thing about Ecluse was their enthusiasm for the other wines in the area, they were even displaying another wineries Zinfandel (Thatcher) that had shared a recent award for best wine! We left with a list of other wineries to visit. Great people, really great wine, don't miss this place!

I love this place. The winemaker, Anthony, is so knowledgeable and gave us some free barrel tastings. I feel like their wines get better and better. Their red blends are my favorite, but their Chardonnay is really good too.
The insider blend is my favorite, but I love the ensemble and improv too. Its hard to choose a favorite.
And they are dog friendly!
