The Museum of the Swiss Abroad tell the story of Switzerland... From William Tell into the future... Through all Swiss Expads who got famous or less famouslike Louis Chevrolet, Antoine-Henri Jomini, Jacques Necker...The Museum of the Swiss Abroad at the Domain of Penthes near Geneva tells the story of those Swiss who ventured into the wider world, sometimes returning to the motherland and sometimes settling forever in their new homelands. From the Swiss of the Vatican to those linked to the King Fance, it is the "Swiss Made" notion or theme that the museum explores via the destinies of famous and less well-known figures alike, including Albert Gallatin, Minister of the Treasury to the United States, Louis Chevrolet, inventor of the automobile of the same name and the author Germaine de Stael.

This estate now serves as meeting rooms for the nearby WHO, UN and US mission headquarters. Rolling hills and lush gardens make for a great morning walk. Beyond the chateau there is the view of Lac Leman (Lake Geneve) and the Montblanc. Food was good...More

The waiters are surly, even rude, the prices are ridiculous and the food shamefully bad. Little more to say. 52 francs for a business lunch, 20 francs for a "veggie burger", which consisted of some overcooked red cabbage topped off with a slice of potato...More

This chateau is situated just along the road from the US Embassy and makes a good walk to the botanical gardens, if walking back to Lake Geneva/the main centre city. The large grounds are a haven for bird, insects and animals, with buzzards/kites circling overhead.

This is truly a pretty place. I went there in January for a reception and loved the quiet atmosphere. Would like to go again in the summer! Lovely view towards the park and lake.

Delicious meal, lovingly prepared and served on an expansive terrace. Everything was a pleasure to see and eat. The menu of the day was a feast for the eyes and taste buds!
