What used to be dotted with cattle on a huge dairy ranch is now a preserve with a diverse ecosystem. You can see raptors chasing down rodents, gushing streams, dense forests and incredible views over Stevens Creek watershed. X-mas tree farms dot the opposite hillsides....More

A strenuous walk to begin with but it gets easier on the return trip. The views are beautiful and make it worth the effort. Be sure to take water so you stay hydrated. A very safe area to walk with lots of walkers around.

This area offers some of the most fantastic views in the area! It's right in the name, beautiful mountain. There are some options for trails so you can go shorter/longer depending on what you're looking for. Can get windy at the top so bring layers!

The Stevens Creek trail is lovely and lush. It's been dry so I haven't seen much water in it. There is a fair amount of climbing up and down on this trail - I wouldn't recommend it for youngsters or the elderly. The campsite has...More

Monte Bello Open Space Preserve is a beautiful place in the mountains. Its also close to San Andreas Earthquake Trail. There are a number of hiking trails. There is a free parking lot to park at while one is hiking.

A gorgeous hike - you can actually see the hills rising above either side of the fault line. Beautiful views. Bring a sweater and water.

The Monte Bello Open Space Preserve is a "must do" if visitors to Stanford University and the Silicon Valley have an extra few hours. The park is located at the top of Page Mill Road above Palo Alto, California that can be accessed via car...More
