Such a beautiful structure. A shame I could not go inside in Jan end when I visited the campus. Pandemic rules kept it closed.

Walked by almost daily when on campus and took enough pictures!
Part of the most amazing Stanford Campus anyways. Anyone who goes there will take many pics in front!

Stanford Memorial Church is located on the Main Quad at the center of the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, California. It was built by Jane Stanford as a memorial to her husband Leland. The church has been called "the University's architectural crown jewel". Certainly would very highly recommend visiting the same to any tourist.

It seems odd to do a review of a church, but this is more of a cultural icon. The front facade is very interesting, the stone work meticulous. There are concerts commonly, and they have an unusual pipe organ. Since it is part of the university I don't think they have denominational services, it's a good place to go and think or take in concerts.

There are a few things to see in the university as a visitor, but this is the best of the lot. It offers the best things you see in churches: beautiful architecture and silence.
The windows are quite colourful and truly spectacular.

MemChu, as Stanford students and alumni call it is worth a visit all by itself, but visiting it will also give you a great shortcut to seeing Stanford. First you'll find parking at "The Oval", a beautiful grass and plants area leading up to "The Quad", the old set of buildings that contain class rooms to this day. MemChu is inside the large innermost courtyard. Make sure you don't miss the Rodin's Burghers of Calais statues on the way between the Oval and Mem Chu.

Designed for multidenominational use. Beautiful mosiacs and murals. Don't forget to look up in the back balcony to see the magnificent pipe organ!

I went to Memorial Church which is in the Quad area of Stanford University. There were many other visitors there when I visited. As it was Christmas break there were few students.

The chruch is beautiful with stained glass windows, impressive architecture, and nice front art. The church was built by Jane Stanford in memory of her husband Leland Stanford.

My brother had his wedding performed there. It is quite beautiful inside, especially with the beautiful Christmas decorations. The organ is quite majestic.

This Church is remarkable. The stained glass windows are so well done with stories behind them. The structure is art in itself. So many events take place here because the atmosphere is calm yet there seems to be a wonderful energy there as well..
, "Mem Chu" is how the Memorial Church is referred to by most in the area. It is worth the trip to learn about the history that goes with it.
