This Iconic portrayal of Marilyn Monroe is actually on a side street in front of a very bus restaurant, but it should be on Palm Canyon. Te walk of stars is a consortium of plaques of well known and locally known stars and contributors to the film industry and Palm Springs. It gives visitors an extra perk while walking down the main street.

A cute area with nice shops, interesting statues and art. Also there are definite photo opportunities along with a strip of famous stars. Again if the summer months are not your thing definitely consider visiting another time of year.

What a treat! I was not expecting to see the stars lining the street as I strolled along N. Palm Canyon Drive.

There were hundreds of stars that were featured on the sidewalk walk of fame. It was an added bonus that gave that extra flair to Palm Canyon Drive.

As you meander around Palm Springs, you will observe a plethora of stars imbedded in the sidewalks. This is the famous Palms Springs Walk of Stars. The Palm Springs Walk of Stars immortalizes over four hundred forty celebrities along Palm Canyon Drive, Museum Way and Tahquitz Canyon Way located in downtown Palm Springs. The first inductees into the Walk of Stars took place in 1992 and included Earle C. Strebe, William Powell, Ruby Keeler, Charlie Farrell, and Ralph Bellamy. Every year, additional notable entertainers, leaders, architects, authors, humanitarians, artist, and athletes have been honored with a star on the sidewalk. You will find familiar names, and not so familiar honorees. With all the attractions spread out along these streets (i.e., shops, sculptures, restaurants, etc.), your attention span is constantly being interrupted. Attempting to locate all 440 stars is a challenging task. Even with a star location map, we were only able to view roughly 300 different stars over a 5-hour period. Each star is unique and pays homage to these outstanding individuals. Granted there were many names that we did not recognize. Spent several hours that evening checking names on the internet, seeking information about that individual. Challenging task. The Walk of Stars is a must-see attraction in Palm Springs. Take your time, enjoy the sights, and sounds of the world’s most famous sidewalks. It is a fun filled activity. Will be returning in the future to view the remaining stars we missed on this trip. Corona Virus protocol requirements are in place for Palm Springs. Mask and social distancing required.

Palm Springs has so many restaurants & speciality shops to choose from around the center of town. The place comes to life at night and it's fun to go to the Thursday night street fair to buy local food, artwork, listen to live music and people-watch. During the day, don't forget to look down at the sidewalks to find some of your favorite entertainers' STARS as you meander to another fun store!

Forever Marilyn is a giant statue of Marilyn Monroe designed by Seward Johnson. It's from the film The Seven Year Itch. The statue is no longer in Palm Springs unless they moved it to a new location?

Once synonymous with hedonism and the best/worst of Hollywood, this chic resort is an absolute pleasure to revisit time and time again. Its the beaut weather that potentially seduces you into feeling good, but take it as granted, the trendiness of its hotels and boutiques make it a joy to stroll through.
We started our self guided stroll at the Palm Springs Art Museum,a space which heralds fine contemporary art and moved on to the Cloisters the Spanish Colonial-style home that the saccharine-sweet, candelabra loving entertainer, Liberace once occupied. Shifting to Alejo Road and zig-zagging onto W Merito Place, we admired Sir Laurance Olivier's grand pile before settling in for a delightful looksie at Elizabeth Taylor's grand Spanish estate.
On the opposite side of the street is Dinah shore's fantastically 1950 modern abode that contrasts so with all the Spanish-style buildings around.. A left and a right into a low climb and we reached funny-man, Dean Martin's sumptuous pile. Collected a caffeine-to-go in front of Lucille Ball's statue, then onto The Plaza Theatre where we trod reverently across all the famous names that made Hollywood a household fame.
The Village Green heritage plaza is a good place to break for refreshments and comfort stop before perusing the local native American culture. From here its architecture that holds prime interest, like the banks and hotels. All in all a good three-hour walk, reading from some superb notes given at the tourist information centre.

You can't miss the walk of the Stars.
Not sure what to say except that there are alot of people on a star I havn't heard of...It's nice to see the stars for the people I do know. There is a really neat statue of Sonny Bono by a fountain. Thought it was kind of cute.
Doesn't have the same feeling as walking in front of Mans Chinese in LAX but it is cute...

We had walked the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd. many times as one of our daughters had her office in that area. So, we really did not set out to check this one here in Palm Springs. However, it is right in the center of the "tourist" area (and there are even some "stars" in front of the Art Museum), so we had to pass it. As you pass, you cannot help but take a look down at the name.

Right on the corner of Palm Canyon and Tahquitz Canyon Drive is the star for Alan Ladd. As my husband loves Western movies, and "Shane" (1953), in which Alan Ladd starred, is one of his favorites, he really was quite thrilled to see the star. In fact, we had to stop and look at it several times.

We saw other familiar names, especially those associated with Palm Springs, as so many stars had their second homes here. But, there were just as many names that we did not recognize at all.
