Small Botanical Garden depicting Desert plants from different regions of the USA and Mexico
Privately run Botanical Garden by the Moorten Family. Different sections of the garden depict regions of cactus, succulent plants. An easy walk through the garden. In addition there is a Cactarium (green house).

Small garden but great way to spend an hour for only $5 entrance fee -- really enjoyed all the cacti and desert plants
It took us about an hour to wander through the garden. Free parking, $5 entrance fee. Lots of varieties of cacti, really enjoyed to finally learn some of the names. There are also lots of desert plants like aloe, yucca, and cholla. Lots of shade too for the afternoon sun. There is a small pond with fish and stream going through the garden. Very nicely done! You can buy plants to take home. There is turtle space, but no turtle when we visited.

    Wedding Ceremony Perfection!!!
We held our wedding ceremony at the garden and it was nothing short of amazing. Everything was perfect and owners so easy to work with and helpful. This is a hidden secret in Palm Springs to hold your wedding. The setting is perfect and very affordable!!!

    Fun time, knowledgeable staff
Spent a nice 1.5 hours at the garden, wide variety of desert plants we’ve never seen. The staff’s knowledge of the plants was amazing, and we left with a bunch of starter-sized cacti. Worth a visit!

    Nice small desert garden
We spent a very pleasant 45 minutes or so among the various cacti and other desert plants. Just a few plants were in bloom in mid-March, but many were just about to bloom. We also caught the beginning of a guided tour where they talked about palm trees which was interesting. Worth adding to your itinerary if you enjoy botanical gardens.

    Was here winter 2023
We were staying at the hotel, pretty-well adjacent to this garden, so it was a very easy walk to get there. I was surprised at how tall, wide, and old some of the cactus were, along the paths, and they were grouped into different regional deserts . Since I love cactus, and it doesn't grow where I come from, I spent alot of time looking at the different ones. People that arrived well-after me, passed me, and were probably out well before me! I went into the greenhouse, which had alot of potted cactus, and some were hanging pots, with the cactus growing upside down! I saw the box in a separate area, where they had made a den for the turtles to hibernate for winter. On the other side, there was a large tortoise, that had come out of hibernation. Just around the exit, there are tables with various cactus, pots and things for sale for a garden, but I didn't buy anything. There is a large, dirt parking lot beside the gardens. Glad I visited here!

Cute place for what it is
First, realize that this is not a large botanical garden. It's a small private garden that has a wonderful assortment of dessert plants. The entrance fee was reasonable. Expect to spend about a half hour walking through the place. We saw several hummingbirds enjoying the garden, too!

This is a cactus shop masquerading as a garden. Small area with cacti growing, no real information provided about any of the plants save for a few signs. The cactorium is bizarre. Not the kind of thing I would expect to pay for. Not worth time on vacation. Boring for kids.

The only plants at these botanical gardens are cacti. A self-guided walking tour traverses a path through the gardens that include cacti from all over the world and a greenhouse where cacti are being grown. There will almost certainly be a cactus variety you’ve never seen before. The cactus focus and inexpensive $5 entrance fee makes these Gardens worth a visit, but they are pretty small and limited. It would be hard to spend more than 1/2 hour here and the property itself is old and could use a refresh.

This is a private family-owned garden, established in 1938, and specializing in desert plants from around the world. We did a short walking tour through, to see their large collection of 3000 varieties of cacti. Very interesting, and great for pictures. Parking is just wherever you can find it, on the side of the highway. There are some plants for sale as well.

I am not a big fan of cactus plants but I am so glad we visited this botanical garden. What a unique and beautiful collection of cacti plants! It is a small garden that took us about 30 minutes to go through the whole thing. And that was us taking our time. We met the owner in the little greenhouse with the most unique cactus plants. He was very friendly and talked to us briefly about the history of the place.

The garden is well maintained. It was $5 per adult. For a relaxing stroll around this garden, it was worth it. We came in the summer with average temperatures of over 100 degrees so we came as soon as it opened at 9am so it wasn’t crazy hot yet. There is a dirt parking lot across the street from the entrance. We enjoyed our visit.

I have never seen so many varieties of cacti. Make sure to take a guided tour. They will show you on pictures how cacti blossom and provide so many details about these flowers. They have even cactus from Nigeria there. Around the garden you can encounter seeing humming birds. If you wear something pink they will sit on your shoulder and try to sip a Sirup from you lol

The family started collecting old growth specimens in the 1930s so you will see some rare and interesting large plants. It's a great place to spend and hour or two. We enjoyed the hummingbird building it's nest in the greenhouse.

My Mom and visited this garden in Oct and had a good time walking around. It' does not take much time to walk through - maybe an hour total if you're stopping at every sign. Tons of different cactus to see and learn about! The owners were very nice and chatted with us at the end. All customers wore masks as did the staff. Easy place to social distance and is outside.

This little botanical garden is worth spending an hour to appreciate the vast varieties of cactus, succulents and bromeliads. Its is a compact place with looping trails that fully utilizes the space. Busy, but never crowded or noisy.

This is a wreck of a garden. Not worth $5. Plants advertised as "rare" and "unique" grow everywhere is Southern California gardens. They may have been special in 1938 but are common now and not well cared for. I believe that when you advertise your business as a botanical garden, you should have more employees maintaining the plants than you do selling them. This is a glorified plant store which charges for admission.
