I only had about 90 minutes to kill before dinner. I thought I would check out the Palm Springs Museum. It exceeded my expectations! Upon suggestion of the staff member, I started at the top and worked my way down. The third floor was wonderful. I do not always appreciate modern art, but there were a lot of pleasant surprises... There weren’t that many people in the museum on a free day which takes place from 4-7 on Thursdays right before Villagefest begins. You can park in the parking structure there so you have free parking and free entrance. It’s a very nice museum with fine exhibits so since you can’t beat the price, there’s no reason to not stop... I am very appreciative to have seen Palm Springs art collection free-- what a wonderful opportunity for guests! Next time I'm there I hope to see a play in the theater! The permanent collection is small but powerful and the temporary exhibits were well presented. I wish the cafe were more comfortable, modern, and casual.

When an out of town guest arrived I said the Villagefest Thursday night was a must AND, from 4-8 pm Thursdays the art museum was free. See the museum then walk down to the street fair. The museum is stunning and very accessible. He truly enjoyed it was we snapped photos of ourselves alongside glass sculptures, striking sculptures of wood... More

This museum is well worth it - even if you have to pay for admission! The Weiner Collection has some of the greatist hits of modern sculpture, nice glass exhibition, and fun/intriguing contemporary art on the top floor. The docent told us that in the summer the museum is loaned exceptional works by collectors who are fleeing the PS heat.

This museum has everything. It has sculptures and famous artists. I come here with my students every year, and I learn something new every time I come here. They even have activities for children, but I would call to confirm.

This museum is really a gem and stands up against art museums in big cities. Nice collection and well curated. I particularly loved the sculpture gardens.

For a small museum, it did have some very good art work. I'm a fan of Rothko, so it was good to see a painting of his there.

The open space of this museum makes it ideal for showing large pieces of modern art effectively. And it does with its upper floor where you're met at the top of the stairs by a weary older couple resting on a bench. It's not us but so lifelike that every time I stop and look twice even though I know... More

We have been to this museum a few times and have always enjoyed the special exhibits and all the native american art as well as the contemporary art. The 2nd Sundays of the month are free so that is a definite plus! We always love coming here and never get tired of it!
