I consider myself as having only an introductory knowledge of modern art. First of all the collection is so well curated, it would be something I would expect to see in a city 100 times larger than here, think New York, London and you will appreciate the significance!!! I was very fortunate to arrive when an exceptionally gifted docent was... More

I visited this museum when I was in Palm Springs during Thanksgiving week. First, I was delighted because, as a member of the Oakland Museum of California, which has a reciprocal agreement with the Palm Springs Art Museum, I was able to visit the museum at no charge. Always a plus! But once inside, I was delighted with several very... More

The recently installed collection of very impressive works by famous sculptors and artists such as Moore, Picasso, Chagall by the Weiner family was a very good addition to the museum. Really helped to elevate the stature of the museum.

The Palm Springs Art Museum is a beautiful building with large spaces to display the art. The art is a mixture of 20th Century modern artifacts, Western paintings and art, and contemporary art. There are also works by Picasso, Chagall, Calder, Henry Moore, Chihuly and other well-known artists. Some of the installations or pieces in the museum are quirky, others... More

We were lucky to visit during a wonderful display of Western art and our docent was extremely knowledgeable about western history. There are 3 levels to see, the top two go pretty quickly though. The western display was awesome as was the George Montgomery furniture display. Great spot.

We spent a couple of hours here and enjoyed the building and exhibits. The highlight for us was the Chihuly chandelier sculpture and his orbs outside in the sculpture gardens.

I visited this gallery late one evening when the temp was lower, The site is well laid out with good access, the location could benefit from better road signs as its the second road back from the main drive. The building was clean and well organised, entrance was free and over two floors. A wide range of exhibits which was... More

This small museum has a delightful permanent collection that is beautifully curated. Artworks are situated to establish connections. One of the most startling works is a lifelike pair of sculptures called "Old Coupleon a Bench" by Duane Hansen. Even though I know this artist, when I saw the woman sitting on a bench near the stairs, I mistook her for... More

Between rounds of golf I went looking for other things to take in and stopped here. Very glad that I stopped by and ended up spending a pleasant two hours here. Judging by their web page and what I saw firsthand it would appear as they are an important part of the community offering a great collection and many programs... More
