We love art museums. Sadly, not this one . Cafe was cute; right by pretty garden. Access easy W/free parking. Collections of early American art was sparse and so was modern collection. Though collection of Morano stone rocks was cool. Okay for a bad weather day- but don't recommend it

The Palm Springs Art Museum is a top notch museum with many various exhibits. I was particularly impressed with the art work of well known artists such as Picasso, Henry Moore, Remington, and Dale Chihuili just to name a few. They are presently also displaying Wild West art including Indian baskets. The three floors are very well laid out and... More

A small museum, which we went through in about two hours. Nonetheless, the collection is high quality, and has a number of pieces well worth lingering over.

We had planned to take the Aerial Tram and when we found it was a 2 hours+ wait we went to the second half of our planned day. Beautiful Indian craft exhibits of ceremonial and weaving art. The gift shop is very special.

I try to squeeze in a visit here every trip to Palm Springs. It's a few blocks away from where I usually stay, but even if it weren't, it's always worth a visit. Plan accordingly for the free docent tour on Tuesdays or Thursdays (I can't remember which).

This art museum is surprisingly nice, but that may be especially true for me because I liked the mix of more "serious" period art pieces from pre-Historic times to the present, as well as the whimsical and inventive pieces that were just pure fun. There best collection is on the third floor and includes a lot of creative sculpture. Housed... More

We were impressed by the works of well known sculptors such a Henry Moore (9 pieces), Degas, Picasso and Pellini as part of a display set by 24 sculptors. Many more, such as Remington, in the Western exhibits. The museum has sections on: Art of the American Frontier, Architecture and Design, Western American Art, Glass for the New Millenium, Meta... For a small city, this museum "punches" well above its weight. When we were there, there was an extremely interesting American Aboriginal Art exhibit. The contemporary art exhibit on the third floor is the highlight of the visit in my opinion. Parking can be limited at busy times so you may have to park across the street in the former... More

Small art museum, but there is a lot here. The go west exhibit was interesting. Not sure where it goes next. The permanent exhibits are equally high quality. The outdoor sculpture garden is beautiful.
