PD visitor center has a very friendly and helpful staff. Good displays showing some of the animals you may see on your hike also a very good exploration on the fauna of the desert. Nice hiking trails leading out of the visitors center, some of that looks like you are walking on the moon, Or you just walked into a... More

Great place to stop in to see what activities are happening in Palm Desert and the surrounding area. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Whether you are looking for outdoor activities, shopping or local or cultural events the staff can give some great recommendations.

This is the first place we go when in town. They know so much and give tips according to your preferences. They have a lot of brochures to take away and also specially prepared information (like a list of public golf courses). Just ask them! We go there every month to get our news-update.

Once we found the Visitors Centre we were warmly greeted and helped by one of the staff. She was full of ideas and tips along with a good variety of brochures to take away.

Learned a lot about the local and desert habitat. We are not from a desert area and have none in our area so this was a wonderful education and learning experience for us.

Always helpful and knowledgeable of everything going on including the hours the attractions close . Also recommend the best times especially reminding you to beat the heat . We purchased our tickets for the Living Zoo here and got a discount .

Hi, and thanks for leaving us an excellent review! When you say "always" helpful, I'm guessing you've visited us more than once, so that alone is saying a great deal. I do want to clarify for anyone who might be reading this that we've just recently discontinued selling retail merchandise, including The Living Desert tickets. Now that we're located inside... Hello, and thanks for the great review. I'm glad you found our resources and our staff helpful. If it's hiking information you're after, we're the ones to talk to! It's definitely the #1 activity that our visitors ask about, so we've hiked most of the trails ourselves and can answer from a first-hand perspective. Thanks for coming in, and for... More

Small and hard to find, but once you get there you can find out anything you may want to know about the Palm Desert area. One of the nicest visitor centes I have encountered.

Hi! Glad you enjoyed your visit to Palm Desert! So many folks think that deserts are going to be flat and boring, but you're right, we're surrounded by mountains, which happen to be home to a National Park and National Monument, to boot! Come and see us again! More
