We rented a condo here for a couple of weeks which was right on the golf course. Though not golfers ourselves, we certain enjoying watching them, and certainly enjoyed the grounds and the club house and restaurant. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner on different occasion in the bar and in the dining room. The food was very good and the service was as well. Eating area outside on the veranda as well. The grounds are well-maintained and beautiful throughout. Several swimming pools in this large complex.

While on a recent visit to Palm Desert we chose to play the Palm Desert Country Club. My observation was the course was just ok! It appears to be an older course winding through a 1950s era housing track. It's maintenance was more like a municipal golf course instead of a country club. I wouldn't go out of my way to play it again.

This was my first time playing at Palm Desert Country Club. I had previously skipped it since I feel it’s important to warm up ahead of my round, but the course doesn’t have a driving range. While it’s true there is no range, the facility does have a nice practice area for putting, chipping and bunker play so I focused on those parts of my game before heading to the first tee. We thought the par 71 course was a good value, paying about $70 in peak season for a round that could be the fastest I’ve ever played—about 3 hours and 40 minutes. My wife and I played as a twosome. The course and cart paths wind from one side of the street to the other several times which is a little unusual. Nonetheless, we found the fairways and greens to be in excellent condition. Most fairways are wide and most of the holes aren’t terribly long or tricky, so it’s possible to shoot a good score here. Don’t overplay the breaks in the greens as they tend to be mild. This isn’t the fanciest course in the Coachella Valley, but it was quite enjoyable and I plan to return.
