I have been to the San Diego Zoo so I know what a quality zoo looks like. This zoo had high quality enclosures. I was particularly impressed with the mountain sheep enclosure. We were there in January and everything was so relaxed. Lots of interaction with the zoo keepers, easy to partake in the various feeding events. All the animals... More

Be sure to take time to walk through some of the cactus gardens. Kids (and adult kids) will love the trains.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place! I love plants and the animals were almost all in very large spaces. It was a sunny and fairly cool day so the animals were quite active. There is also a place to hike in the desert.

We had a great time at the Zoo. A great place to take your family. For us the park was very accessible for anyone, short walks around the exhibits. They did have a rides to each location for an additional fee. The animals and gardens were very nice. Each exhibit show was additional money to view once you get inside.... More

We spent the entire day here, starting with the ranger's walk. Fascinating gardens of desert plants. Loved the emphasis on endangered species. Top marks to the fun of feeding carrots to giraffes and the butterfly garden. Both cost a few dollars extra but were worth it!

Weather was great for an afternoon here. Immaculately clean grounds, an abundance of helpful guides, great weather, and beautiful plant and animal examples with descriptions made an enjoyable visit. New addition was the cheetah run which was fun to see. Camel rides are possible as well as feeding a giraffe. Model railroad village and a cafe add to the enjoyment.

Very friendly and helpful volunteers. Spend the extra bit and have your ticket include the train ride if you can't walk far, are short on time or maybe like me, didn't feel like walking around that day, it's worth the extra money. Beautiful plants and trees everywhere, it's truly beautiful.

Fairly pricey. We walked the zoo in about an hour. The giraffes were awesome as were zebras and big cats. Camel rides for around $6. Aviaries with a lot of birds. I would say the zoo itself is about average.

This is a very accessible park. The paths are wide, even, and have gradual grades. For a nominal cost, there is also a tram that goes through the park - you can hop on and off at frequent stops. Our ages ranged from 5 to 69. I'm disabled (58 years old) and had no issues at all getting around. We... More

I came with no expectations and came away with a wonderful experience. This botanical garden and zoo is neatly laid out to enhance the desert experience and provide a natural habitat for the animals, most of which have been rescued and brought back to health. The guides are knowledgeable and eager to provide information on everything the place has to... More
