Adjacent property has a war era observation installation. Technically on private property as the sign states. Many people wandering over to check it out anyway.

This is a beautiful hike on a paved hiking/biking trail along the California coast, where Highway One ran before the Devils Slide bypass tunnel was completed. There is parking at both ends of the trail and great scenery for the full length. You can connect...More

Beautiful views with occasional whale sightings. The old highway gives you the opportunity to view parts of the coastline that are not otherwise accessible. Paved trail with many benches and nature signs describing the birds, fish and other wildlife.

Sometimes you just have to take the road less traveled. Let the winds decide where you'll end up :) Have fun!!

Beautiful scenery and nice refreshing place for a stroll overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Free parking but limited spaces especially on a busy holiday weekend.

Great place to stroll with family and friends. Watch for whales, see the ships, enjoy the sunset. Not flat, but not too challenging either, nice round trip walk from the free parking areas at both ends. Wear layers, it can be windy.

It is just a 1.3 Mile Walk each way. Limited parking, but on a week day, it did not seem a problem. Walking north to south is Dow Hill, not steep but an incline. Bathrooms at both ends of the walk. Great great views of...More

This is an easy paved trail that follows the ocean-but make sure you go on a sunny day! We started out in the fog and it only got thicker. It was peaceful, not crowded and we could hear the ocean but could not see much....More
