We followed the easily navigated and well maintained recreational trail from Lovers Point Park to this park named after local, Hayes Perkins. Mr. Perkins was the one who originally planted pink ice plants along this section. Though the plants were not in bloom in September, the beauty of the rocky coastline should not be missed. Ample street parking is available for those who cannot make this easy and rewarding walk.…

Lived in Bay Area almost 20 years and had been Monterey several times. However, never went further to Pacific Grove to observe these natural beauties. So lucky that we decided to go to Monterey (and the went further) before we headed South to Big Sur and more. I personally think it is as awesome as 17 miles drive but not too many people know. Actually, this makes it even better because not crowded. Thus we can fully explore and enjoy all these beauties. We surely will return in the future to spend a night or two at Pacific Grove to fully explore it. …

Various small beaches to hike to. Mostly rocky so you are climbing and jumping. Lots of good parking. A few benches but didn't see any tables or restrooms.

This particular park is located up on a bluff between Lovers Point Park and Esplanade Park. There is access to a small beach below. The city park bears the name of a local resident who took it upon himself to make this the lovely stretch of park it is today. Fifty years ago, he tore out the poison sumac and planted the ice plant, carrying water here by hand.…
