Wasn't open but very nice lighthouse

Great to walk around and check out this lighthouse. Worth a look, even when it's not open. Extremely picturesque and quaint.

We were so excited to get to visit this lighthouse. We arrived during the times that it was suppose to be open but unfortunately it wasn't. We couldn't really take any pictures of the lighthouse.m except for one. Maybe next time we can get closer.

Pretty little lighthouse seen from a distance. With the right angles it is fun to photograph. You just need a long lens as it is in the middle of a golf course.

This lighthouse is only open for a few hours each day (check the online schedule), however, quite well kept, interesting and the docents on site were very informative.

Very nice to visit an actual working lighthouse. They did a great job displaying historical information, objects from the time period. The small display room in the basement showed off the past and present technology of the lighthouse, the three small rooms upstairs recreated the living conditions of the early lighthouse keepers. Docents were knowledgable and informative. The view of... More

As the oldest lighthouse operating on the West Coast it is a piece of history. The tour is self-guided, but the docent who was present was able to provide a wealth of information. In the Lookout room on the second they have printed out and framed some of the more interesting entries from the lighthouse keepers' logs.

Don't expect the romance of sea and a lonely lighthouse, The modern Point Pinos Lighthouse is surrounded by a golf course. Entrance is at the rear (land side). Bring an active imagination and admire tis well preserved lighthouse form an era that was quiet different. Then The MUST SEE is to leave the lighthouse and golf course and go to... More

Pt Pinos Lighthouse is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the west coast. It is a charming place to visit, where you can catch a glimpse of the past. The docents will tell stories about the lady Lighthouse keepers and you can see the parlor and bedroom. The kitchen was just recently restored with great cabinets and an old fashioned... More

Always wanted to visit a lighthouse and took time out to visit. The stairs were a challenge to climb, but was interesting and fun. The guide gave us a lot of information about the history of the lighthouse.
