You can drive from Asilomar Beach all the way along the coast into Monterey. BUT if you enjoy walking, park at Lovers Point Beach. Then walk the paved trail, old train tracks, right to the Aquarium on through Cannery Row onto Monterey Wharf. Beautiful beach and it was fun having the squirrels come up and try to get into the car after crackers. The waves were awesome.

This is a a pretty easy walk along the coast. Watch the waves crash along the rocks and check out the baby seal pups. Absolutely beautiful.

Walk along the oceanfront on the paths from Lovers Point to Asilomar in Sprig when the iceplant is in bloom and you will never forget it.

This is a beautiful drive. It's partially along Monterey Bay and then opens to the Pacific. Keep going south along Asilomar State Beach. Do it both directions and switch drivers to do it again. Just could not get enough of this gorgeous coastline. Mapquest wanted to take us several different routes but we always diverted and went along Oceanview Blvd. The waves during our visit were spectacular hard to drive and keep my eyes off everything that was going on with the ocean

When you're in the area, the walk along Oceanside Blvd is not to be missed. There are beautiful views looking across the bay to Moss Landing and beyond.
