Capt. Dan is a Coast Guard licensed master and American Sailing Association instrutor. Sail with him for a few hours or up to several days, exploring the Channel Islands ... or take private lessons. We have two yachts, one economy and one luxury boat built in France and we are the only company offering sailing eco-tours of California's Channel Islands. Our islands are often described as the Galapagos of North American and abound in sea life from whales, to dolphins to fish that ride here on either a southern current or the northern one. Ashore, you will find a landscape mostly clear of humans and protected by the National Park Service and the Nature Conservancy. Human civilization dates back some 10,000 years here, but only a handful of caretakers live here now. Come with us and step back in history 200 years, step away from civilization.

Wow! Decided to surprise my boyfriend with a beginning sailing lesson for his 30th birthday and it was an amazing experience. We both learned a lot and had a great time. We hope to continue learning to sail in the future! Captain Dan was fun and laid back, but very dedicated to the lesson at the same time. Thanks!

I just realized I never wrote the review I meant to write of our fabulous sail with Capt. Dan last fall. Well, let me remedy that right now...two Georgia gals, my BFF and I, flew to California to celebrate my birthday with said BFF's niece who also had an October birthday. We wanted to be on the water more than... More

That was a great trip. Fall sailing around here is the very best. While my midwestern sailor friends are getting their boats winterized, we're getting ready for sun, breeze and temps in the 70's and planning trips to the usually unapproacable San Miguel Island. Of course, that takes a couple of days, and glorious days they are. Hope you find... More

Captain Dan is a pleasure to sail with, the islands are undeveloped beauty and the sailboat is top-notch! We hope to bring our daughters next time!

Took my kids and nephews out for a day sailing with Capt. Dan and the Bosun to Anacapa Island on Sancerre. That's me and four teenagers, unplugged, gliding quietly through the ocean at 6 knots. Everyone got a turn at the helm and helping with the lines as needed. We anchored off Anacapa Island to enjoy a delicious lunch. The... More

It's hard to get kids to unplug but even harder for some of us adults to avoid panic when we have no bars. But after a short time, blood pressure subsides and cares seem to drift over the horizon. It was great sailing with you and your family. Hope I sparked an interest in sailing in the kids. See you... More

That was a memorable trip. The Channel Islands never disappoint and with about 330 days of sailing weather we've got lots of opportunities. Hope you'll come back to enjoy my back yard very soon. //capt. dan More

My husband and I recently hired Captain Dan for 4 days and 3 nights aboard our 40ft sailboat with the intent of touring The Channels Islands for the first time and improving our sailing and anchoring skills. I found Captain Dan online and based upon the wealth of information on his website (and his videos), decided to give him a... More

Thanks for the opportunity to sail your lovely yacht. I had a great time and -- as usual -- learned a great deal. About what? Your superb yacht for one, Every time I sail a new boat, if I get the opportunity for a longish passage,it's like making a new friend. And that takes time and being aboard in different... More

I completed my ASA 101 and 103 certification under Capt. Dan. The weather didn't always cooperate, but Capt. Dan always found something instructive to do with our time. In just a little over a month, I went from knowing nothing about sailing, to being comfortable skippering my own boat (under the right conditions!) Capt. Dan is a patient and knowledgeable... More

Thanks for the glowing words, but I have to reflect a lot of that back your way. You were a very attentive student, did all the homework and you came to sailing school with a lot of power boat experience. Even though I rarely get on a stinkpot myself, I've found that any boating experience, including power, kayaks, canoes -... More

it was cool but the ppl throwing up in cabin bathrooms were idiots ur supposed to stay infront of boat if u get sick nobody listens to the captain so it ruined the relaxation of the inside cabin bar area, you need to puke outside and learn how the boat works. FACE AHEAD PEOPLE!!!
