My family and I went whale watching on the Ranger 85 on Sunday morning January 21. The crew was nice and we did see about 3 whales and many dolphins. My problem was with the man cooking the food in the galley. My 2 children...More

We saw 2 different types of dolphins and a few gray whales. My kids and I really enjoyed the trip. Don't forget sunscreen and Dramamine if you get motion sickness. My 6 year old was a little scared by the rocking of the boat at...More

A wonderful 4 hours spent whale-watching on the perfect sized Ranger 85 on March 9th . The ocean was like a mill-pond and we saw Grey Whales, a Humpback and hundreds of dolphins cavorted alongside the boat, which held around 70 passengers and seemed uncrowded....More

Went with two friends. Saw dolphins and a humpback. Also sailed around the Channel Islands. The crew went above and beyond to get the best out of the trip. Definitely recommend. Thanks

We were on the boat called Ranger 85 and it was really fun. Not overcrowded like some other boats we saw :-) When it comes to seeing whales, we knew it could be hit or miss, and we were lucky - we got to see...More

The kids loved this as much as the adults. Long day of 8 hours plus on boat. Sunscreen and jacket a must. We saw 2 adults and 1 baby humpbacks along with about 50 dolphins. There were otters and sea lions as well. Once in...More

It's hard for me to give an adequate review of this place. We set out for a 3-hour whale watching tour which turned into an hour log in-and-out ride because of the choppy seas. I honestly felt like I was going to puke on a...More

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We try very hard at Channel Islands Whale Watching to provide a quality experience for our customers. When the weather proves inclement, and makes wildlife observation challenging, we opt to try on a day when...More

It was a fun ferry boat ride. We originally made a reservation for the Channel Island day trip but due to weather conditions, we had to reschedule and ended up doing the 3 and 1/2 hour whale watching ride that went to Anacapa islands. It...More

If you've got any type of motion sickness, this may be worth skipping unless you've found good pills that work for you. The boat is small enough that even a gentle swell may cause you to feel sick, and it's a long time to feel...More

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. The Channel Islands have become a global destination to observe wildlife. At times the water may be choppy, though typically great conditions exist. There is no better place to observe such diversity when it comes...More

Went end of January, not the height of whale season, but the weather was perfect, so we went. Just the right amount of time on the water, and the dolphins were all following the boat when we would come upon them. Really cool. Saw 2...More

You can call the company for an accurate answer. They're honest about it. You may only see dolphins, not whales depending on the month.
