First-run movies. Student and Senior rates. Comfortable seating/viewing. The pre-movie trailers seem to last forever, probably 10-15 minutes and are annoying. Orinda Theater offers Free Movie Night monthly and is posted on the marquee. Several dining/cocktail/wine/beer choices before and after performances, just steps away.

I've seen many movies at this theater. Once per month they offer a free "classic" movie showing. This old theater has three screens, but only one of them is LARGE. The other two screens are much smaller. Every time I go to this movie theater I appreciate the art deco appearance, the tarazo flooring, and the intricate art that covers... More

Going to a first run movie at Orinda main Theater is stepping back to when movie theaters had it all. It's a small town feel and a sweet clean place. I Love to see any first fun movies in the large main Theater. It make seeing a movie feel special !

The Orinda Movie Theatre looks the way movie theatres used to look. There is a large neon vertical sign outside and the various theatres are small, by today's standards, but quite beautiful in their decorations. The seats are old, don't recline, and are one behind the other, but the screens are digital and the experience much more intimate. The people... More

Parents can come by after an outing at Tilden park (carousel, animal park, ride-on steam trains) to stop in at the nice toy store, have a coffee/ice cream at Loards, catch a movie and have a selection of dinner options.

As a foreign, it was great to visit a more classic movie theater, with the carpet and all! Very cute!

The Orinda Theater is a beautiful architectural gem from the 1930's. It is a local attraction with current and vintage movies. Best of all it does not cost an arm and a leg for a movie with a soda and popcorn.

Absolutely beautiful old Art Deco theatre that I enjoy every time I'm there. (Can you say that about your multiplex?) There is architectural and artistic charm in all three of the cinemas here, even the tiniest one. The only downside is that the chairs are older and so do not have cupholders (but the seats are still comfy). Popcorn used... More

The Orinda theaters it has a great location! And the service is great and everythinh! Although there is one big theater, that is nice. But then rest of the theaters are small and has very little space! I went there for the Star Wars on the day is came out and the theater was great!
