Stretched over 6000 acres Briones provide easy to moderate trails for those who love hiking. I have pretty much used the Orinda, Martinez and Lafayette entrance. Probably the Orinda provides the most cardio from Bear Creek. From the top you can see Benicia bridge and Diablo mountain. One big reminder: PLEASE CHECK THE HOURS OF THE PARK. I had a... More

There are wonderful hiking and biking trails throughout the park. It is amazing how easy it is to get away from the hubbub of the nearby urban communities.

Huge park. some open space, some trees and trails, some cows, and several different entrances from 3 different cities. Best thing for me is it is dog off leash and they love it. But there isn't any water or swimming holes. there are poop bags at the Pleasant Hill Rd entrance and a parking lot though that is a less... More

Variety of trails for everyone. Wonderful views toward the Bay, Benicia and Mount Diablo. Take the rim trial to see it all. Often see hawks, Eagles and other wildlife including the occasional Coyote.

To someone who doesn't live in the area, this park is not the easiest for figuring out the multiple entrances/exits and all the amenities. Be patient, do your homework and enjoy it. Sometimes a little challenge is good for the soul. I never am one for giving up.

Briones Park is a nice place to hike, bike, or ride your horse. It is becoming more popular so you are likely to see a few people, but it is a great escape.

I am staying in Walnut Creek and decided to hike in the lovely golden hills I am looking at every day going to and from work. Admission is free on weekdays, sweet! There are several park entrances, I went to the Bear Creek Staging area. This entrance is very near Lafayette and Orinda and minutes off the highway. The roads... More
