This is short but beautiful hike that gives you a great introduction to the big trees. We are lucky that someone started realizing how important it was to save these trees.

Well, kinda. This grove was dedicated a year after Redwood National Park was founded. So, the history of LBJ Grove interested me. As others have noted, this is a good introduction to the redwoods. You'll see more folks on the loop than other locales in...More

We enjoyed the Lady Bird Johnson Grove. This was a place where they organized the saving of the Redwoods. It all began in the 1960s. I appreciate that. We had to cross over a solid wooden bridge and then we were in the Redwoods. We...More

This walk is a magnificent way to get an introduction to Redwoods National Park. It's a flat hike, well-groomed, and only about 30-45 minutes in length. You will appreciate the bio-diversity of the forest as well as the resilience of these magnificent trees. Be sure...More

We got a tour from Ranger Rick and learned a lot about how Redwoods grow. The trail is easy to walk and well maintained, and shows many of the beautiful plants that Redwood National Park has to offer. A great walk for a family, and...More

Visited the grove on a light rainy day. It was deserted with only a few people on the trails. The trails are self guided you can pick up a trail map at the trailhead. There is a moderate to easy walk of about a mile...More

It was my first visit to see the redwood trees! The 1.4 mike trail was an easy walk for this old lady! 😁. Giant trees and huge ferns felt like a step back in time, which in a way I was. No regrets seeing the...More

This was our first redwoods trail and was a nice start to viewing the redwoods. Parking lot is not small but also not large given how easy the trail is.

Many people like to see this one. I am only giving it 4 stars because as a local I know people have had their vehicles broken into here. It is a circular loop that would be nice to have hiking footwear but not necessary.

I don't know if there is a ranger-guided tour. The grove is terrific, with old and growths at a higher elevation. Yet the trail is quite flat. You can easily finish the loop in an hour.
