The tram ride was a little pricey but the views from the tram and from the top were amazing!! I didn’t eat or drink anything, but it looked good. The Olympic museum was a little disappointing. I wish the pool would have been open. Overall, a good experience!

We loved our ride to and from High Camp, but right now, there isn't much to do at the top.
If you have the money for a bit of extravagance, then this ride is breathtaking and wonderful and not to be missed. If you're on a budget and can't do both the Squaw Valley tramway and the Heavenly gondola, I would do Heavenly. It's a bit more expensive, but there's more to do at the top.

Hi Sheryl,
Thank you for visiting Squaw Valley and for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize that you did not find much to do at the top, but we're glad that you thought the ride was breathtaking. The views of the mountains and Lake Tahoe are wonderful! Thank you again for your review.

Beautiful views on the way up and at the top. We could have sat up there all day! Small store at top for snacks and drinks or pay more for choices outside on deck area. The house made chips were good. Cookie from shop inside was delicious!

What a great afternoon event for 29 bucks a person. We stayed at the Village which is super close to the gondola. The entire staff there was terrific. All of them. The ride itself was fun and one of those treats you should take to see the vast beauty of the area. Still being in the pandemic, resources were not what they would normally be but they did have a bbq with refreshments out on the vast patio. You can also bring your own nibbles. If you can deal with the 8,200 foot elevation, the hiking opportunities are endless. You can even bring your pets. Do this.

Nice little day trip but quite expensive. Although we were told by the cashier that if we would buy tickets online 24h prior then we would save $10 each. I think it was $49 per adult. The ride is fun but there are a lot of ppl in the cart and if you are not by the window you might not see a lot. There is a playground for kiddos, pool, one restaurant and observation deck. Too bad the ram closes at after 4pm.

A family pass was quite expensive so we decided to allow a full day for this and we were really glad we did.
The tram ride itself is beautiful particularly as Lake Tahoe comes into view. We did have to wait a while for it to leave though.
Once you get to the top there is loads to do. We did a hike up to one of the peaks that gave breathtaking views across the Lake as well as the surrounding mountains.
We then had lunch at the restaurant which was a bit pricey but really tasty.
After lunch we went to the Olympic museum which was awful. We only went in because it was there but if that’s you reason for going up the tram save your money. There are a few old ski suits, some old skis and a couple of information boards. My husband loves anything related to the Olympics and even he was disappointed.
Our teenagers went roller skating for a while then we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool and hot tub.
Would definitely recommend this as a day out.

Pricey option for getting to the top of the mountain ($49/person or $39/person with advance purchase). The view was great but during the non-ski months don't expect alot of services other than hiking and bathrooms. The tram was only open on Sat & Sun and didn't start running until 10AM. Make sure you go their Web site and order tickets in advance to save $10/person. You pick them up at the ticket office.

Might be a little pricey for a family, but I believe it is worth it. We bought the Upgraded package that included pool and skating access for $55 each. We went up once and hiked (as much as we could considering we live at 600 ft above sea level), went down and got our swimsuits, then went back up. I'm a geology buff and seriously enjoyed the views up and down of the mountain. The terrain at the top was unexpected (wildflowers were still blooming) but beautiful and there were still patches of snow to play in. The pool was supposedly heated, but us Texans found it cold, so spent quite a bit of time in the hot tub and at the bar.

We were going to ride the gondola to base camp just fpr the sights but $46 is outrageous! No lift ticket, no pool pass, np skating pass, not even a glass of beer included. We did not go. Crazy prices!

The squaw Valley Tram is well worth the trip. It goes from Squaw Valley up to the rim. The views are fantastic,,, a bit scary to ride, but quite safe!

Thank you so much for the great review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your time on the Aerial Tram. The views really are fantastic, even though the heights are a little scary at times. We hope you come again soon!

Will the tram be operating the week of June 14, 2020? I've read other gondolas in the area (Heavenly & Mammoth Lakes) usually close in mid-May and don't reopen until summer, which from what I can find tends to be mid-late June. I'm just trying to find out if I can confirm that this one will be operating over the few days that I will be in the area?

HI! I just called the Squaw Valley Aerial Tram's toll-free number listed on their website (800-403-0206). Unfortunately. the tram is closed until November. Sorry to tell you that. I hope you can find other fun things to do. -Jim

Hi. I just found out that the tram will not be running during the two days that I am in Lake Tahoe (Tues/Wed Sept 20 & 21). I am so disappointed, I was really looking forward to it! So now I am looking for alternatives. The Heavenly Gondola is closed too. We're renting a car, so is there any way I could drive up the mountain for scenic views?

Check with the Lake Tahoe Visitors Center. They were very helpful when we were there in August. The drive around Lake Tahoe (allow 3-4 hours) provides amazing scenic views. I found the views on the drive more breathtaking than the views from Upper Camp. Definitely better views of Lake Tahoe.
Have fun and enjoy your adventure!!
