The ceramics class was great fun and we learned a lot in a couple of hours. The instructors, Taylor and Esteban were really kind and helpful. It certainly stirred our interest in continuing in Ceramics.

Firestick is a pottery studio not far from the center of Ojai. You can take classes or just create one lovely piece of pottery in a few hours, and return later to pick it up after it’s fired. They’ll even mail it to you if you can’t get back there to pick it up. I made an adorable hand built tray after just one lesson!
There are interesting pieces of finished pottery and other art work for sale in their studio.

What a fun way to be creative in a town known for art and creativity!

It was great to have you. We're so glad you love your sweet little tray and hope it brings back fond memories for years to come. Also glad you got to experience another side of Ojai. So many visitors just stay in town and never get to experience the bucolic east end with its orchards and farms. It is truly a relaxing experience to be in the center of this side of Ojai.

I had an amazing first time pottery experience and was so happy I got to make some pieces myself! The instructors helped us center the clay, shape the pieces, and remove it from the wheel with as much or as little help as we wanted. The pieces were ready to be glazed a few weeks after the first visit, and ready to be picked up a few days after that. There was a $15 fee for each finished piece. We went back in person to glaze ourselves but they can also glaze it for you if you are not local. It was so fun and I definitely want to do more pottery throwing now :)

Outstanding teacher (Aaron) and really fun experience. Highly recommend even for very beginners. Studio tour was fun, especially learning about the whole process. Plenty of opportunity to make multiple pieces.

Loved our experience with rosemary! First time doing pottery but they went through the steps and helped correct our mistakes. We made so made pieces that we are going to glaze and the variety of glazed was amazing

I had a fantastic experience despite the fact that my clay flew off the wheel once and I made a complete mess a few times, I had a great instructor though! She made it a fun learning experience. I had several pieces and they turned out beautifully. This was my first play with clay experience and o appreciated the small class size. I definitely recommend a visit to play with clay or to buy attractive finished pieces which are available in an affordable price ranges.

My 16-year-old daughter and I had a fabulous afternoon. The two hours flew by, but we managed to create several pieces during the time thanks to the excellent guidance and assistance of the instructors. I’m amazed that we were all able to pick up the various steps and techniques so quickly since this was our first time. In the end, we got to choose the pieces to keep and they will finish, fire, glaze, and ship them to us once complete. It was a fabulous experience.
