Modern museum is made up of some historic 1920s buildings. Two floors had 4 galleries of interesting modern art. Local modern artist, print maker and off beat feminist artist. Admission is $8, $5 for seniors. They participate in the North American Reciprocal Museums (NARM) so membership in one of those museums allows for free admission. Easy free street parking in... Great museum built in style of Irving Gill. A short walk up pier View Way from Coast Highway in downtown Oceanside. Admission $8 for adults but they have many free events and activities for children. Sometimes on a night with food served outside (buy tickets). Very nice staff and dedicated team of supporters. Typical events are a steampunk night and... More

The changes exhibits constantly, but the times I have visited I have been impressed. The do a good job showing an artist or theme and tying all of the works together in the 3 main galleries and sometimes beyond. Good information and helpful docents. There's an emphasis on San Diego and California art. The gift shop is full of handmade... More

As a local I go to OMA all the time. Their ever changing events are always fun and exciting. One of my favorite events is the Day of the Dead night. Just awesome!!

Lovely museum of art with a great schedule of social activities. Many are family friendly and promote area and local artists and activities.

Since modern art is not my thing I wasn't impressed by the collection. If you are into it, the displays are interesting.

some shows are very good and some not so good depending what and who you are interested in. Check on the artist that are showing before you go. Or just experience someone new.

Our visit to this museum was great! I was pleased that I got in for free because I am a student. It is not far from the beach. The exhibitions were fantastic and some included descriptions and commentary. I loved this little museum!

We were in Oceanside for one of their OsideArtWalk Friday's. We began the night by stopping at the Oceanside Museum of Art. There were a few vendors outside for the event including an artist who was painting live. Inside there were a couple larger exhibitions - augmented by a handful of smaller collections. I did not see a permanent collection... More
