Whether you go here to attend an educational event, view the gardens, eco tourism, or whatever the event, you will love this place. Their gardens are overflowing with abundance. I attended two volunteer Wednesdays at the OAEC. So worth it. The OAEC is a working example of what an intentional community/permaculture garden should look like. Warm, friendly, helpful people, and super tasty vegetarian (mostly vegan) lunch.

This place is not an attraction. It is a community that has found away to combine their resources and passions to create a beautiful of community living. They share their knowledge through OAEC so that anyone who is interested can learn. They do have a nursery that has special hours, volunteer work days and scheduled tours, it you are lucky... More

OAEC is an amazing place in rural Sonoma County, Calif. near Occidental. They raise plants, give tours, have events, and the people working there are so informative and helpful. We were greeted at the entry and given instructions on where to go. We visited on a Sunday at a sale which happen several times a year, and are looking forward... More
