My 1 year old daughter and j went with some friends who have a 5 y/o, a 4 y/o and a 2 y/o. There was something for everyone. It is $10/person to get in. A family pass for 5 is $100, but it will more than pay for itself if you use it more than twice. My daughter was too... More

Growing up in Oakland, I first went to Fairyland around 1957. As a 7 year old I remember riding a small steam train that winded around the perimeter of Fairyland. Plus, there were all kinds of swings, slides and jungle gym equipment as well as carts to buy snow-cones, pink popcorn, hot dogs and sodas. Somewhat Disney themed, quite novel back... More

Great place for young children. It is the same entrance fee for ages 1 to 100 and at $10 per person it can be quite expensive. Plenty of rides and things to do. Also a little train.

Children's Fairyland in Oakland is a neat place to enjoy a family day out. We visited here with our 14 month old and she had a good time. There are some animals to see, some cute paths to explore, and a puppet show (if your kid is able to sit still long enough to enjoy it!). It's budget friendly BUT... More

I brought my jaded 6 yr old and 4 yr old and totally expected to leave early and to hear I'm bored the whole time. Was in total shock when they begged to stay longer! This is a charming park, completely unplugged and low tech but in the most magical way. Each attraction celebrates a different fairytale. There are things... More

This park is a great place to visit for kids 8 and under. I went here regularly as a little kid 50 years ago and they've done a decent job maintaining and upgrading the park over the years. We took my son here when he was 1 and he enjoyed a return visit as 12 year old. My daughter's first... More

I have to admit, I was not looking forward to visiting Children's Fairyland. Anything that is built in the 50s (without Disney's budget) is bound to 1) show its wear and tear 2) be terribly out of date 3) not applicable to today's interests or trends. Boy, was I wrong! Fairyland allows children to be children, with all of the... More

Fairyland was, we are told, the precursor to Disneyland. A much smaller scale and showing its age but still fun for younger kids.

Growing up in the Bay Area, I looked forward to day when I would bring my daughter to Fairyland. The opportunity finally came during our July 4th visit to see family. I couldn't find my old Fairlyand key ahead of time, so we made sure to buy a key at the ticket counter. This is a must! We were a... More
