I pass through this small park several times a week and it always lifts my spirit. It's a collection of preserved historic houses that are now used for offices for non-profit organizations. Architecture, landscaping and fountain are lovely. Quiet oasis.

Came for a weekend conference at one of the Halls, not realizing that it was part of a special architectural project, an enclave of period houses preserving the charm of an actual Victorian neighborhood. The buildings now house offices, an auditorium, and who knows what else businesses need. Very pleasant to walk through and around, and is just across the... More

I've helped put on events in a couple of the Preservation Park Venues as well as attended some there and always appreciate the architectural beauty of Niles Hall as well as the grounds which are great in nice weather. It's a great place to hold an event!

Spent the AM here in June. My wife and I and a Close friend walked all the way around the pond. There is a Bar and Coffee shop on one end in the middle.

Walking in Preservation Park is like stepping back in time. It's a lovely place to take your family photos, especially at Christmas since they decorate the place really nicely. Or, it's also possible to have events there. I've seen some lovely weddings. The Old Oakland Victorians are lovely!

When Oakland was developing the downtown area many wonderful old Victorians were found to be in the way. Instead of tearing them down they were moved to preservation park just behind the Federal building. The homes are now occupied by nonprofit groups, lawyers and other such business . There is one wonderful lunch place. A walk through the grounds and... More

My organization rents out rooms in the summer to host workshops for educators. It is central - which is great! Even though it is in the middle of a city, it provides a relaxing environment that feels just outside the chaos of a city.

If you have a chance to catch an outdoor concert in Preservation Park ...GO! Beautiful restored homes line the blocked off streets and create a unique backdrop for music, art and other gatherings. Check this out, very unique and unexpected in the heart of downtown Oakland.

Fascinating restoration of some beautiful late 19th century Oakland houses. Gardens and houses well-maintained ... I wish it were better known.
