Considered one of the five best dinner trains in the West, the historic Sierra operates year-round from the town of Oakdale, CA (near Modesto & Stockton, and on a main route to the Gold Country & Yosemite). Romantic sunset dinners and murder mystery shows are the most well known trips. We also offer brunches, lunches, wild west shows & a trip where you ride out but then raft back! Trips take 3+ hours.

A trip on the Beer Train. The selection of the 4 breweries was a good mix, the band was jumping and the VIP food was OK. The ride is interesting but not overly exciting in where the train goes. It would be nice if it actually went to the foothills. Overall and enjoyable evening with good friends!

My husband took the High Noon Express, a 2½-hour round trip from Oakdale. We bought “premium” tickets, which included a lunch and the option of up to four drinks per person, including small glasses of beer or wine offered on a “tasting” menu (you could even keep the souvenir glass if you wanted to). Lunch consisted of two airline-style servings... More

Whether you go for a dinner train ride, the Christmas train, or any other special event, it's a good choice. Food and drink is good and you get to see scenery that you can't see from the road. Kids love it too.

The train ride was a bit disorganized. The service was lacking as was the scenery. No one to greet you when you get on the train. Paid for snacks on the train they gave us a cold sandwich. reception for music was none. No phone service. The train ride went up one way and came back the same track for... More

Went to the Saturday evening show January 16th. 1st I want to thank my brother Jack for creating this gathering with my best friend and family . Jack made all our eating arrangements for my vegan friend and myself with the chef onboard . I have to admit they exceeded all my expectations of what I was going to eat.... More

I went on the dinner train a while ago for a company sponsored event and I will never do this again due to the poor service and the intoxicated servants

This was our first year on the zombie train. We have visited in the past for the Christmas train and New year's eve dinner train reach an enjoyable experience in their own right. The zombie train was very entertaining. It may be little intense for the very young, but any zombie fans and going to have a great time.

Had a fun time taking a leisurely train ride with pretty good food for a train, fun times with a couple and plenty of time to talk, would like to see an extended tour farther up the mountain.

This is a bit of a departure from the norm. I enjoy train travel, and Americana. They have a number of theme rides and the trip is fun and scenic. They have talked for years about using Steam Engines and I wish they would. It would make it even better.

Bad acting, food not very good chicken Dry and salmon Dry. Too expensive for what you get. Have to be mostly drunk before there is any comedy in it.
