This drive is gorgeous and cool during the hot summer months. If heading up in winter, be prepared for snow and mud. Be sure to stop at Globe Rock, the Jesse Ross cabin, and of course a piece of pie at Jones Store!

Nice and easy ride to some great views and picture opportunities. Be sure to take you camera with you and as always, plenty of water.

Beautiful drive but parts of the scenic trail aren't patrolled and should have been closed off, but they were left open. Heavy snow, downed trees, deep ruts, and unmarked areas were common between Jackass Meadows and Bass Lake, Beasore Meadows was closed, and the roads were in very bad condition. My SUV got stuck in deep snow and I had to walk 20 miles in sub 50 degree temps to get cell phone signal and to call for help, so be aware before you go driving!

Great drive in a forest setting. Some great views to be had at Mile High Vista. It's a lot of driving, so we find it's best to combine w/ hiking and/or camping. Lots of beautiful meadows, forests and granite! Cautions: Bring maps! Some bump dirt roads! Cow manure at many camp site, meadows and trails. Gun shots from target shooters can be heard frequently, even at night. Tip: You might want to wear orange if you go the first week of hunting season.

Amazing vistas and fun places to stop along the byway! The road is bumpy and dusty, which naturally limits the traffic if you are looking for a place without as many people. You must stop at Jones' Store for pie!
