I've been camping at Mammoth Pool Campground since i was 9. I'm 53 now. This year they closed our campground so we, for the 1st time in all these years, stayed at Wagners. Although different, it wasn't bad. I am very fond of the Wagners. They do a good job running their place and try to accommodate your needs. Love... More

Friendly atmosphere with store and restaurant, this establishment offers what you need to enjoy Mammoth Pools. When the lake is full (hopefully this winter of 2015-16) this will be a great place to get away from the Valley heat!

I was here exactly once, 10 years ago. Our visit left such an impression on my family we still talk about it. We ordered lunch at the counter and then sat in rapt awe as Nelda Wagner relayed her remarkable story and the story of the resort. Our family now awards the 'Mrs. Wagner' award for perseverance and fortitude each... More

2 years ago I viewed Mammoth Pool from an overlook along the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway. I read about Wagner's Resort while researching information on Mammoth Pool. Fast-forward 2 years I found myself on a motorcycle camping weekend within an hour's ride of Wagner's. I took a day-trip from my base camp to visit the resort and cafe. The lake... More

Rented 2 camping sites and had a trailer on one site and a tent in another site. My brother came up with his son and was going to sleep in my tent so there was only going to be one tent and only 5 people on my site but since he had a extra car, Amy the owner, wouldn't let... More

This is the best campground in the Sierra National Forest area (out of North Fork/Bass Lake). It is right on the creek and EZ walking distance to the camp store. The restaurant just keeps getting better (think 'Pizza'!) and they have added full breakfast menu as well as the famous 'Mammoth Burger, salads, specials and old fashioned soda fountaion. They... My family first discovered Wagner's resort when I was 2 1/2. It has been a favorite vacation spot for us ever since. I am 62 years old and still love the place. The fact that it is almost exactly the same as the first time I visited makes it a true camping experience. Yes, it does not have all the... More
