This a cool spot ran by a great family. We worked here for a summer season and just had a blast. So much to do in the area and great fishing too! They do get busy in the summer so call ahead.

I've been camping at Mammoth Pool Campground since i was 9. I'm 53 now. This year they closed our campground so we, for the 1st time in all these years, stayed at Wagners. Although different, it wasn't bad. I am very fond of the Wagners....More

Friendly atmosphere with store and restaurant, this establishment offers what you need to enjoy Mammoth Pools. When the lake is full (hopefully this winter of 2015-16) this will be a great place to get away from the Valley heat!

I was here exactly once, 10 years ago. Our visit left such an impression on my family we still talk about it. We ordered lunch at the counter and then sat in rapt awe as Nelda Wagner relayed her remarkable story and the story of...More

2 years ago I viewed Mammoth Pool from an overlook along the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway. I read about Wagner's Resort while researching information on Mammoth Pool. Fast-forward 2 years I found myself on a motorcycle camping weekend within an hour's ride of Wagner's. I...More

This is the best campground in the Sierra National Forest area (out of North Fork/Bass Lake). It is right on the creek and EZ walking distance to the camp store. The restaurant just keeps getting better (think 'Pizza'!) and they have added full breakfast menu...More

Hi, Me and my family are planning a camp trip to Mammoth Pool this coming summer. How is the road up there. Is it paved or unpaved? I need to know cause I'm going to rent a SUV and rental company won't allow any of their vehicle to go on an unpaved road. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the road should be no problem. We worked there for a summer and towed our 34ft 5th wheeler up ther no problem. Might be a couple of bumps, and LOTS of curves but you'll be fine with the SUV. And heck with the rental... More

We are coming to Wagners in a couple of weeks, driving a 30' Tioga Motorhome. We have never owned an RV before (first timers). We have read the driving directions and they sound pretty scary! (Narrow and winding roads). We are new at drivering such a long vehicle. Can anyone tell us how tricky or dangerous these roads are? Do you recommend this trip for first timers? Any info/advise would be appreciated.

Hi, We are planning a trip from July 14 - 22, 2016. Introducing our grandsons( the 4th generation) to Wagner's! So excited, can't wait to get there.Have not been able to visit for several years as we were caring for my mother who just pass from Alzheimer. Do we need reservations? Did the fires in the North affect things? What are the conditions like: fishing, water level, bears(?), fire hazard level? Can we have camp fires? Thank you, Marlene
