The Village has a large assortment of restaurants with good food, lots of little boutiques and art shops. You can also access the beach easily from it. There is often a cool breeze so it's a great get-away from inland heat.

After whale watching, we walked around the village and looked around the shops. Fun, touristy stuff.

If you want to take the family, have fun with friends, or be romantic you will find it all in the village. Not to mention great shopping.

Numerous quaint shops and restaurants. Parking is an issue, so suggest one take the ferry from the Balboa Pier area, and walk across the island to get to downtown. Much more fun than trying to find a parking spot on the island.

All kinds of trouble to get into in this zone. It's a tiny 3 square block city on it's own, even has a post office. Dive bars, regular bars, sports bars, restaurants, shops, bay cruising boats to rent, liquor stores, hotels, arcades, fine dining, great holes in the wall, virtually on the sand of the Balboa peninsula. Parking can be... More

Lots of shopping to do in the 18 and under stores for clothing. Many selections for food choices. ALso, you can walk around the island and look at all the beautiful homes and boats. Everyone was very friendly.

This is a hidden gem for sure!!! I really enjoyed walking around Balboa Village! Plenty of things to see and do! Lots of little touristy shops, arcades, home to Davey's Locker and Newport landing Sport fishing, to name a few. You can rent boats, take a whale cruise, etc. So many options here. Highly recommend in spending several hrs here.

If you enjoy marinas, beaches, and coastal enclaves, then Balboa Island is for you. It makes for a very nice get away but can get very crowded on the weekend.
