I love single screen cinemas! There are so few of them. I'm glad the Lido was restored & reopened. The remodel/restoration was beautifully done. The Art Deco details reminds me of The Casino in Catalina Island. It's so charming I wish I lived closer, I'd...More
Started going to this theater at age six in 1952 for the Saturday matinees for children. Admission was something like 10₵ and for that we got a full-length movie, a short and 4-6 cartoons. Occasionally a Hollywood, western movie would show up to entertain us...More
Love this theatre! One of the few old, glamorous theaters left. On a recent trip to Newport Beach we had dinner and then stopped in at the Lido to see 'Sully'. Love the old Hollywood feel of this theater!

Saw Andrew Dice Clay. Took us 40 minutes to get our wrist bands to get in. Total mayhem. People cutting in line, obnoxious security, 1 guy doing wristbands for the entire event. People were furious. Lines for drinks took forever, theatre was hot and has...More
Lido Theatre is located in Newport Beach. They have live concerts and show movies. I went to see the band Long Run in February with two friends. ID must be shown as they serve alcohol. Parking is street and a lot at the end of...More
Old time movie theatre, that was revamped a bit, so inside is ok. They seem to only show "artsie" movies no one wants to see. Sometimes they have showings of the newport film festival here, so that was very nice.
