My husband and I walked this trail yesterday. It rained the entire time and it was wonderful! Many small wooden bridges. Lots of bright green moss on rocks and trees. This is a good trail for all levels and abilities. Definitely recommend this trail to...More

This is a nice trail if you want a few miles of nature trekking without exertion. It starts at a parking area right on Hwy 49 above Purdon Crossing and heads away from the road on fairly level, easy to manage terrain. The wooden structure...More

We have been here several times. The first time we went on wooden trail but wanted to get to river - we turned down steep dirt road and dis some bushwhacking to a giant swimming hole - gorgeous and for nudists. The next few times...More

Well, first of all, this is good if you want a flat "walk" and not a hike. Secondly, parking at the trailhead is tricky and dangerous. Third of all, lots of very creepy, nasty broken-down out buildings along this "walk". It was a nice walk...More

Wonderful views, easy hike, much available to strollers and wheelchairs. Be careful about your car at parking areas, often targeted hikers get car windows broken and valuables stolen in lot

Independence Trail Tour in Providence.. Highly recommended! (1 Replies)
Today, I took the opportunity today to do the Independence Tour in Providence...it's been on my to-do list ever since it was founded about a year ago. The founder and guide, Mr. Bob Burke, sure knows his Providence history.. his knowledge and passion for the city really comes through. I've lived here most of my life and never noticed 3/4 of what he pointed out.. he makes it fun and educational. You can take the tour free..self-guided with your cell phone. (go to...More
