Absolutely a must do with Platypus Tours if you’re in the Napa Valley region. Our host, Gary, was phenomenal and extremely informational throughout the day. My girlfriend and I booked a tour with them for her birthday and it was nothing but a spectacular time...More

Tim was amazing! Thank you!! We are a rowdy bunch who love to sing on the bus and wine taste in between. Also, we are a larger group which is hard to manage for wine tasting. Tim helped me schedule the wineries and kept us...More

This was a fun day and an easy way to see some of the smaller wineries in Napa. We were there only a day and so wanted to make the most of our time. Very happy we chose Platypus. Our driver, Greg, was knowledgeable and...More

We enjoyed the tour and the hospitality of small wineries. This is our kind of tour! Gary was an excellent chauffeur, but not just that he became a friend. I (Debbie) was not a fan of red wines, which are pretty dominant in this area,...More

I recommend calling Platypus Tours directly (707 253-2723) to determine if they handle transportation to and from San Francisco.

Napa Group Tours (1 Reply)
Our hotel concierge has recommended either doing a private tour or group/join in tour with Platypus Wine Tours since this is our first time to the area. We read the Trip Advisor reviews and they all seem great, and they're ranked very highly. . Does anyone have past experience with them on here? Would you recommend? Is there another group tour you would recommend? Any thoughts on group vs private winery tours? We are first timers visiting Napa and got overwhelmed by the long list of...More

Platypus group & private tour (6 Replies)
We have a group of 4 heading to Napa next month for wine tasting. We are thinking of doing a group tour with Platypus Wine Tours on Friday and then hiring a driver through them for a private tour on Saturday. I thought it would be a good way to get the best of both. Anyone have any input/recommendations? Thanks!

Why two different ones ? Why not just the private tour ? Platypus is well regarded so is this to save money ? Does it ? You can do two different areas or regions with the driver if you need to do 2 days

My husband and I are visiting Napa for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) in May and will be staying at the Andaz. We have booked an all day tour with Platypus Wine Tours on Wednesday. We will be driving in from San Francisco on Tuesday and want to visit 2 - 3 wineries on our own. We enjoy all types of wines; however, Chardonnay is our favorite white and Pinot Noir is our favorite red. Based on what I’ve read about Platypus Wine Tours they seem to visit smaller wineries so I was thinking we...More

Carneros is your place- lots of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Cuvaison, Etude, Sainsbury, Nicholson Ranch. Highly recommend going over the Golden Gate Bridge on your way to Napa. That's the free direction :)
