About
We offer half-day and full-day guided fly-fishing trips to Putah Creek--just 25 miles from downtown Napa-- to fish for wild Rainbow Trout! We also can guide on other rivers if requested by the client. We provide all gear: waders and boots, fly rods & reels, etc.; and any requested drinks for the day. Full-days come with a deli lunch as well. Richard and our other guides have many years experience with fly-fishing on Northern California rivers; and will bring clients to the best fishing spots and assist them with catching fish. It's a beautiful and serene getaway from the busy-ness of everyday life.

Went on a half day yesterday with Richard and it was well worth it. He has so much info to give to someone like me who is still learning how to fly fish. I recommend using his skill to guide you around the Napa area.

We had the pleasure of using Richard as a guide on the Putha in early July.
He is very knowledgeable and knows the area well. Richard was very patient with my son and wife (first time fly fishing). While the water was moving fast, we could land a few fish – due to Richard's expertise and coaching.
I will have him guide us again on the next trip.

Recently, my Brother and I had the opportunity to spend the day with Richard, fishing Putah Creek. Growing up in the mountains, my Brother and I had both done a lot of fishing, but are somewhat new to fly fishing. Richard, did a great job of explaining and showing us both how to read the water and deliver the fly to the fish. He taught us several casting techniques and was supportive and thoughtful. The gear he provided was top shelf and kept us warm and dry! Thanks Richard, we look forward to our next outing!

WOW! Just wow, went out with Richard in mid March. He did an excellent job helping my wife get into some solid fish! She caught a healthy 18” rainbow and was casting like a pro after a quick lesson and some great instruction. I ended up landing one of the biggest trout of my life, somewhere in the ~22” range. Great results for a tough fishery! His positive attitude and energy were a definite benefit, can’t say enough good things about Richard!

Richard was a great guide on Putah Creek and my husband and I enjoyed our day. He is very knowledgeable about all things fly fishing and has been on the water in the area for years. His enthusiasm for the sport is catching and the beauty of the area is remarkable. Book Richard for a day or half a day on Putah Creek and breathe in serenity!

This was a great experience and fun day. Our family of four loved it and enjoyed the environment while learning fly fishing.
Richard was an excellent guide; providing waders, boots, and all necessary equipment. He was very patient and helpful throughout the day. As novice flu fisherman, we were very green and needed assistance. We purchased a fishing license for the day.
As a family visiting the Bay Area, this is a memory that we won’t soon forget. You won’t regret this experience. Would recommend this 5/5.

My dad and I had an awesome time fishing with Richard. He has an enthusiastic energy for the waters that is intoxicating and makes you want to quit your job and wade through rivers the rest of your life. He showed us all the tips we needed to go from awful to not so awful, but more importantly made it fun. I even hooked two fish! Imagine that. I'll be back soon to fish with Richard, and I suggest you do the same.
